I believe the same. Seems to work better during the pre rut. About the last 2 weeks of october. Have tried using just grunts and just bleats and even fawn bleats and all have worked before but the combo is my "go to". For example the buck I shot this year on oct 18. There were two other does in the field with him. Tried grunting and he paid no attention. Bleated a few times, the does came running to and the buck followed. Grunted a few times to get him in range. Just one example but have also had failed attemps too.

I drove through there on 225 on my way to work this morning and did not see any orange in the trees anywhere. I checked in gate at 5:40 this am, only two ahead of me. I may have been the only person in the middle of the park, didn't see anybody. Most guys were hunting the far north end or far south end. Hope the like works.. found this deer up stream from prophetstown last year

Combo... I use a doe estrous bleat tube call, then grunt like a buck chasing.. best combo, killed several nice bucks using it This combo seems to get the best response for me too.

If my partner comes through, I'll be buck hunting at Big Oaks.. If not, doe patrol. Looking forward to it regardless. How was the trip?

Warm weather definitely slows down movement but if there are hot does pushing, chasing and seeking will still happen without a doubt. As a matter of fact I'm banking on it. Brother in law was out setting traps this afternoon around 1 pm and said he saw 2 150" and a smaller buck running 4 does around. Just proves if a doe is hot there isnt much thats gonna stop bucks.

Time for the Hail Mary play, the Bump and Dump. Bumped a nice buck from his bed walking out from my morning hunt so posted up 40yds from the bed in hopes he beds there tonight. Odds are slim to none but being the last hunt on this property I have to pull out the stops. BEAST STYLE!!!! Sweet!

My parents have it. Pretty nice setup. If you already have netflix or amazon prime its about perfect to get. Plus they have bow hunt or die web shows if your into that.

I think the scrape and licking branch is what bring more deer in during daylight hours than just a post to rub since the majority of rubs are made in the dark. Put the "post" near bedding areas and theres a good chance you will see deer.

Ive had times when on stand there seems to be squirells galore and the next day there is almost none. I have also noticed in the am when they first come out the make alot of racket for about an hour then they seem to calm down and in the pm they seem to nest up about 30 min. Before dark and it is super quiet at that time.
