I have hunted the place several times over the years. No where near as many deer as there was. When they first hunted the place getting 3 deer wasn't a problem. Here lately no so much. The reduction is doing what was intended. I was drawn for today but passed on the wind and rain.

Even being a little windy here I couldn't turn down the last evening set. Little less than 2 hours.

One last try, what a great morning to be out. Been a rough season, but still hate to see it end. So far only a big coon spotted.

I bow hunted beside a subdivision with a friend a few years ago just north of Bloomington Speedway and we would see 20 or 30 deer every evening.

Well back in the place called the Jungle. I really thought last night was my last outing till muzzleloader season. But my daughter woke up sick this morning and we decided against taking the horses and camping. So my 2016 gun season lives on.

Back in the jungle again. Bumped a doe that was laying along the hay field that I walk across when I got here. She was 60 yards from my truck. So she laying low this morning and I walked within 40 yards of her or she came in and laid down after I left at 11.

In a ladder stand in a nasty thick hollow that I call the jungle. First doe slipped in at 7:50. Hope her boyfriend comes looking.

With some people there is only 2 ways of doing things. There way and the wrong way.

Good morning and Happy Thanksgiving from my tower blind on the Clay/Owen line. I hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable Holiday with family. I love hunt Thanksgiving morning. It's been a family tradition for longer than I want to tell. So far no deer in the field or the brushy hollow. But it's still a great morning to be out.

What's the details of your water tank blind. On a day like this it sounds like a good idea. I got a slightly damaged 500-ish gallon water tank at an auction, cut the top half off and lifted it (bolting it in place wity 2x4s about 18" higher) and added plexiglass windows and an office chair, on a 4' platform. Cheap and effective. I will be looking for a used water tank.

I'm back in the water tank blind tonight, dry and comfortable. The fields were full of deer on the way out here. What's the details of your water tank blind. On a day like this it sounds like a good idea.

Ive got permission to hunt several hundred acres of ag fields. Im thinking about trying it out this week. Really want to drop at deer at 400 And this is where Deer hunting is replaced with Deer Shooting I hate seeing this happening . Being able to just get a deer is being replaced with let's see how far away I can shoot one , Another reason I didn't HPRs. It's now Deer Shooting not Deer Hunting ! And that's the great thing about Indiana. You can make it as hard or easy as you want. (Not that a 400 yard shot is easy). And as a fellow deer hunter if the practice is legal then it shouldn't be looked down upon. There's so many people against hunting. We should remember we are on the same team.

Since you asked ....They act like dumb hillbillys and look like bums with those nasty beards. I'll take guys like; Michael Waddell, Nick Mundt, Chipper Jones, Mark Kayser, Steven Rennell, Will Primis, etc to represent the hunting community any day rather than those jokers. Because all of your original mountain men, trappers and hunters were clean shaved.

Live from Trey's stand. Just dropped a doe right where she stood. Trey would be happy. I shot another one! Dropped them both where they stood. I had to come home to print off another tag. Way to go. Way to fill the freezer.

Very nice bucks. It's amazing that Illinois has some outstanding bucks and they are still allowed to harvest 2 a year. Congrats on 2 nice bucks.

Wishing I was live from the stand instead of live from the J.O.B. short work week with thanksgiving so I'll be back at it soon enough. Understand that. Same here. Did see a few on way to work. So there on there feet. But it was 3 hours before daylight.

It very well could be legit. ( or not) It's amazing how many hateful comments instantly come out of the woodwork. I remember a huge Indiana deer that was posted on here once that was perfectly legal and there were several comments like, "I heard it was poached over by Dupont," etc. When you looked at the guys posting they only had one post! They had went to the trouble to post just to troll somebody's deer! Very true. This my friend is why if I would have killed it. There would be NO pictures on the e-net of it. I would be so p..... if I had to defend myself from the jealous haters. My family and a select few friends would know. And my taxidermist better never let pictures be taken. And I could care less about score.
