Best sticker of all time was on a horse trailer this fall in Brown County. "If it wasn't for Henry Ford we would have all still been driving a horse and buggy. But if it wasn't for General Motors we would have all went back".

Will the NFL go out on a major witch hunt against "Big Ben" for his under inflation of footballs as they did Brady?

I duck hunted this weekend with my grandson, it was 19 degrees at sunrise yesterday and 24 this morning. We hunted all day yesterday and half a day today, we stayed warm without the use of the heater we were wearing HOT HANDS warmers. We had the insole warmers in our boots, the large hand warmers in our pockets and we put a stick on warmer on our tee shirts right over our chests, we were comfortable all day long. These units were still putting out heat 12 hours later. Where do you find the insole warmers at?

I'm hunting a deep hollow next to the place I call the jungle. With it being cloudy and overcast it sure didn't get daylight very quick this morning. Seen a coyote about 8. Slipped through some brush with no shot. That ticks me off. Wind has picked up a lot last few minutes. No deer so far.

Didn't get out this morning. Went to the PRI show in Indy. Made it out this evening. Set on a cut corn field and didn't see a thing. Give it another try tomorrow. Time is running out on the ol buck tag.

Well I'm now live from the E.R. Received a text while deer hunting that my daughter cut her hand while cutting Paracord for making horse reins. Had to leave at prime time, no deer, but taking care of my dear. Oh man, how is she? Thanks for asking John. She is ok, finger is very sore. She was cutting some cord and cut a chunk out of her left hand knuckle. It cut a deep, wide V. They said at the e.r. with it all now missing they couldn't stitch it. So they put strips on it, wrapped it and immobilized it. Told us it will be hard to get closed and healed up. Don't bust it back open, don't get wet and watch for infection.

Back straps and deer sticks are on the ground. Freezer full. Only thing left is buck tag. Hope it doesn't end up tag soup. You will get one. This cold weather going to help. Congrats on doe, I need one for sticks myself Where do you have your meat sticks processed? Me and my family ready like the ones from Candlesburg? South of Odon.

Well we have the daughter taken care of from last night's mishap. Now we are live from the Clay/Owen line again. I know evening hunts are better this time of year. But I couldn't pass up a chance to hunt my tower with it spitting snow. Hopefully something comes to the cut corn field. If not I will be back at it this evening.

Headed out now. Little windy, but it's worth a try. Still have a buck tag in my pocket and running out of time.

Well, I will bet. When the smoke clears and the numbers are in (what ever they are). Next year we will still be hunting deer. Yes they will be deer to hunt. And we will still be hunting them with bows, shotguns, muzzleloaders, handguns and yes even crossbows and HPR. And there will probably be this same topic, heck it might even be this one still going on.

I only heard one shot over the weekend. I think the timing of the rut is the main reason. There always seems to be a one to two weeks slow period right after the peak. I know the herd very well in my area and I see this every year. Of course one late doe and or fawn changes that area for a moment. (LOL) I guess HPR's had a negative result (LOL). That's what I was going to say. All those Indiana guys setting on the state line with HPR's. There is no possible way for one to cross back over to the Mother Land.

hornzilla said: I also know I have killed a deer with every legal weapon for Indiana except a crossbow. Keep driving a sprint car and you might get that disability permit sooner than you think. Featherduster I have a bad back and neck now that's "possibly" from it. Lol Sometimes my wife smiles and ask "has it been worth it" I smile back limp off and tell her. You bet your ... it has been. atta boy! We are almost duck hunters except we live in Indiana. Ducks hate Indiana. Goose hunters rule. They don't wear make up like duck hunters do... We lug blinds and decoys by the arm loads out to a muddy corn field. Lay in bags covered in mud and corn stalks. Wait for hours for them to fly then while on a bathroom break they land next to the blind that is wide open. Or a single glides in while we are standing around telling stories. I miss field hunting! Oh come on. That never happens when waterfowl hunting.

I have no idea the number, a bunch. It took me 3 years to kill my first deer. That first kill was in 1982. I have taken at least 1 deer every year since then. Including this year. I also know I have killed a deer with every legal weapon for Indiana except a crossbow.
