I got my lifetime license in 1998,$525. My ONLY complaint is not buying hunting and fishing and trapping. That's my fault though, it's easily paid for itself many times over. Bought my license in 94. Best investment that I have made.

The two GSP that I have now are natural hunters and pointers. All I am doing is teaching them to hunt with in the range that I want. Controlling some of there drive. This has always been what I have done. Dad and I done the same when we had GSP before. Some might not agree with me. But I truly believe there borned with it. As a "trainer" you polish there nature abilities. If they don't have that nature abilities you will never train it into the.

That reminds me....you got my bird lined up yet? My standard is 1 chest hair. Gobbling, strutting walking, roosting, quiet as a church mouse, hit on the way to the woods 5 yards or 50 yards...don't care. Bud. You know you're first in line, dont even have to ask. This year ill guarantee it. You let me know when. So duff is in line before me? Lol

Well my Son, Daughter in law and I headed to Illinois this morning to do a little hunt. Sadly a week from tomorrow its all over with till fall. Had a fun little hunt today. Decide for the first time to see what they would do together. Will say I am proud of these two dogs. Think they will end up making a good team. My male was on his game today. And the 7 month old pup did very well. She pointed 3 birds on her own. She even backed my male dog on all his points. Only think we will work on is him honoring her points. He refused to honor her today. Went on hunting his own bird. He was perfectly find with her honoring his point. But hey. Both less that 16 months old. Doing well for what I want. We will keep polishing them. Oh and by the way. I am having a blast.

Will they retrieve from water too? GSP are used for some waterfowl. But I don't know of anyone personally that uses them. These two have strong pointing desire. Weak retriever desire. But they are both young and we will be working on that this summer.

Let’s see a pic of the New family and share their names…Thanks! I would gladly post some pictures but I'm not computer savvy and don't know how. The male registered name is. I'm your Huckleberry Finn. Goes by Finn. He is a rare black roan patched. The female registered name is Rock Solid Bonnie. Goes by Bonnie. She is a traditional liver roan patched. I have been out of the bird dogs for several years. Dad and I use to have them. I will truly say I have been having a blast with these dogs. I honestly think if I lived in big pheasant states like the Dakotas. I probably wouldn't hunt anything else other than upland.

If anyone knows of a litter of German Shorthair Pointer pups for sale out of hunting stock. Please p.m. me or post here. Thanks Have you gotten a GSP puppy yet? Well kinda. Ended up with a lightly started 15 month old around Christmas. Hunted a couple times on birds around the house before season went out and he did pretty good. Started taking him to a preserve in Illinois and shot some birds over him. Man did that light his fire. Then my son was getting hooked on it. So he was offered a 6 month old pup with papers for free. She was to much of a "hand full". Well she is a hand full. After two days of being nuts around his Lab. She needed a home. Well let's call good ol Dad. So I have since took her in now as well. Well after a fee days of messing with her decided to see what see would do on a wing. She instantly locked up on a wing. We did this for a couple days. Then yesterday I decided to haul her to Illinois. Wanted to see what she would do by herself. She pointed 4 quail and we shot 3 over her. Long story short. I now have 2 and think there on there way to being a good pair.

The fine for the glove is a little over the top. It was in no way a performance advantage. It was done in my eyes to work a a air deflector to help him get some air under yellow. They could have said we are taking the glove for a unapproved safety item and left off the fines. I have race my entire life. Still racing sprint cars. And this is a little over the top. The glove was used as a aero advantage to block air from coming in car when qualify .….. The webbing was not SFI-approved after modification. As I said. Take the glove because of unapproved safety equipment. A aero advantage? Lol. Please. NASCAR looking for a cash fine.

I'll have to look at Cabelas to see if the same model is there now. It is wide and long, I also bought the pad that goes on it. For tent camping, get a couple of 2x4's or 2x6's and set the cot up. Place the wood under the legs and mark. Use a Forster bit and drill 1/2 way through the wood. Round the bottom corners and that way the cot legs won't be trying to poke through the bottom of the tent. Mine is VERY comfortable. I've used it for 12 days in a row elk hunting, and have used it numerous times other than that. It's comfy enough to be used as an extra bed for 1 person. This is the closest that they have now to the one that I have. www.cabelas.com/shop/en/cabelas-big-outdoorsman-cot-with-lever-armI don't see the pad that I have, but one that fits the cot makes it more comfy. I also have the "night stand" thingy that hangs on the side of the cot. I have the same thing in the Bass Pro model. And also do exactly as you said about a piece of wood under it. Even take a couple half lengths to level if need be.

NASCAR is rapidly becoming a joke. What's the problem your seeing? The fine for the glove is a little over the top. It was in no way a performance advantage. What actions can be taken when you have neighbors that will not contain there cattle. I have sent them numerous trail camera pictures where they are running free on my property. They will not return calls or reply. They are absolutely destroying my woods. I have been very neighborly. But this is getting ridiculous and I am running out of patience.

I think it would be very surprising the amount of "world class" bucks that have been and are killed every year, perfectly legal and yet very very few people know about them. These hunters have no desire for social media and aren't out to impress anyone. To take this a step further. I'm quite confident some of the truly "elite" big buck killers are almost unheard from. Back in "the day", when fur prices were extremely high, the guys that showed up at the buyers towards the end of January with literally a truck load of high quality furs were not the ones sitting around talking about how good they were. They were out grinding every day and night. As soon as season ended, scouting and prepping for next fall started. Big buck killers are the same way they don't want attention they want success and they are beyond driven in achieving it. Absolutely. Also with the amount of jealousy and out right hate in this world. Who would want to post anything and sign up for that headache.

When you grow tired of your Tupperware. Buy yourself a Springfield. 😀 I've looked at the hellcats they are nice haven't pulled the trigger yet I personally prefer the XDS over the Hellcat. Own 2 XDS one with optics and one without. Tried a buddies Hellcat. Will stay with what I have.

We need to let the senate know that hunters support this bill! Not all hunters support the bill… They should. Numbers in my area are way to high.

That was short-lived. We killed 7 over a 2 week period. Just how it should be. A good one is a dead one.

We will agree to disagree on the "kill them all" people. If a farm or hunting ground is truly being managed for deer and turkeys. Then every Yote. Coon. Possum and Skunk is taken out. By whatever means. Rifle, traps, and hounds. And the only reason the Bobcat isn't on that list is because there protected unfortunately. And they need addressed here very soon. I manage my properties for wildlife. Deer and turkey populations are both great, turkeys prolly best I have seen since moved here 23 years. Not out to kill off any species. Just posted on another site how well turkeys are doing. Quality habitat has a lot to do with it. Each there own. My deer and turkeys are doing very well. Turkey number and pictures have been great this winter. But I will say if on any given day you get 6 or 7 yote pictures. You have a predator problem. I would be beside myself if I had that many in a month.
