Woodmaster’s bucks… Woodmaster just bought and moved into a log cabin home north and east of Chandler and doesn’t have internet service yet so I’m posting these for him.. Here are a couple of bucks that he killed this year over in Illinois. Very nice eight that he bowkilled a couple weeks ago. A very nice ten that he killed Saturday morning with the slug gun. He originally passed the deer up at 60 yards and then thought better of it. The deer came back and he dropped him at 70 yards. They have some genuine Booners running the place, thus the off and on again decision to shoot...

Very nice bucks. It's amazing that Illinois has some outstanding bucks and they are still allowed to harvest 2 a year. Congrats on 2 nice bucks.

It is really not that amazing to have deer like that "IF" the small bucks are allowed to grow a few years. Most hunters though just kill the first buck they see, especially on public ground. But if it is private ground and neighbors are willing to keep their finger off the trigger on young bucks then big deer can be around every year. It just takes a deer 3.5 or 4 years old to be a pretty nice deer.

Photo shopped I'd say besides everybody knows you can't kill deer like that unless you smear poo poo all over your face and wear clothing with sponsor names all over it.
BTW: CONGRATS

If genetics are there and the nutrition is correct, then age will be the magic ingredient.

The area that he hunts is pretty tightly controlled river bottoms. It is not just his group but several more groups that just hunt very mature bucks and will cull does.
Good habitat and good management..produces good bucks..

Cool ! Woodmaster consistently kills good deer. I killed a pretty good nine point in IL Saturday and my nephew killed a ten point.

Very nice bucks. It's amazing that Illinois has some outstanding bucks and they are still allowed to harvest 2 a year. Congrats on 2 nice bucks. Yeah. Their deer are ( in general ) bigger rack-wise and I believe always will be. I follow MR James on facebook and he hunts a real nice property in Indiana. He sees a few nice deer. He hops right across the wabash to Illinois and sees bigger deer. Good hunters like Woodmaster who take two out do not affect the size of the deer overall. Illinois proves it. Way to go Woodmaster!
