Hung a double ladder stand a few weeks ago. Taking my oldest out youth season. Hoping this will be the year for her first after a few close calls last season.

Ive finally had time to take a breather, and its just in time for deer season! Spent most the summer moving and getting our new place the way we want it. Long story short, wife and I now own a farm on 60 acres. Its a full time job on top of a full time job for sure. But we love it, dream come true. Whats even better is, weve saw a big 10 point pushing 170s in our bean field numerous times! Finally got a camera out this past weekend. C'mon october 1!!

No deer, saw 2 walking out. Got down at 930 as they prob went to bed. Going back for evening hunt. Enjoying some cold ones on opening day. Very happy to be a part of this site and share with others who have the same passion.

2 skinheads, shot one at 7:20am. Got down at 8am. Trailed blood for about 30 yards then nothing, no blood , no bolt, just dried up. Looked for 2 hours found nothing. Shot was 30 yards in some thick brush but fairly easy. Bright red blood so I may have just hit a leg or something not vitals, but the amount of blood in two spots I thought would be an easy recovery. Going back in the morning for sure, might try this evening, thunder and rain now.

Try using a dog or call in help to search the area.

Raining like heck now, I was all over the area. In 45 years only the 2nd deer I've ever not found, I can only guess my shot was not as good as I thought.
