I use a Burris red dot on my 870. Took a nice fat doe at 25 yds last year & a 26 lb turkey at 45 yds this spring.

Sounds like a good recipe. How about adding a little fresh dill.

Sounds like something Uncle Ted would profess to have done.

I'm cleaning out my surplus fly tying hooks & fishing hooks. Terms of sale are at the top of page 1. If you live in N.E. Indiana near Kendallville, I could do a face to face sale.

Get the one with the best, hopefully lifetime, warranty. Limbs have a habit of breaking.

Finally got my turkey this morning just after 7am. 26 lbs, 11" triple beard & 1 3/8" spurs. I heard a single gobble as I was walking in. Then 2 more about 100 yds straight ahead of me. Same place I'd heard them a couple days ago. Got the decoys out & settled in my ground blind. All 3 kept gobbling until about 6:45. Saw the 2 fly down thru the trees. About 10 minutes later a hen pops up to my right & moves towards my decoys. She wanders around a bit then heads straight for my blind. Shes hanging out 5 yds in front of me but keeps looking back into the woods. Sure enough here comes 2 toms & another hen. The toms strut for a bit & make a move for my decoys only to turn around & retreat. Then back towards the decoys again. The big one looked kind of jumpy so I shifted in my chair, shouldered my gun, put the red dot on his noggin & fired. A couple of flops & he's done at 45 steps. imgur.com/ogPs5nVimgur.com/6kDPXHQimgur.com/09lpkr2

I can fall just as far putting up Christmas decorations on the 2nd story of my house. Harnesses for that too? I say no.

Get something that feels good when you shoulder it. And make sure it has a good (lifetime) warranty, the limbs are subject to a LOT of stress & do break at the worst time.

I got this 7 pt buck today just after 8am. The woods was really quiet today after yesterdays rain & I just about missed him. But he stepped on a large stick that made a huge crack. Had to wait for him to get to the other side of the tree I was in. Took him at 20 yds. Not huge but will fill the freezer. imgur.com/a/K3L9A

Didn't see any deer this morning but found a real nice fresh scrape real close to another stand.

I took a doe at 8:30 this morning from 20 yds. Dressed out at 110#. Beautiful morning, light breeze & chilly.

I've got a Parker Tornado F4 that I like a lot & have taken several deer with it. Their warranty is top notch too. I think you'll be happy with your choice. Double check all the screws for tightness after you shoot it a couple times. The guy at Cabelas did a poor job putting mine together. A drop a blue loctite has fixed that problem.

I did the credit freeze thing a couple years ago for all 3 reporting agencies. Only had to unfreeze it once when I did my home equity line of credit. Then refroze it immediately.

I had 3 toms move by early this morning. They were in a canoe, paddling slowly & wearing hunter orange flotation devices. So I just waved them on by.

You can find d-I-y videos on youtube to do your own refills of the cartridge & pads. I've done both, works good.

If I buy license & take (1) turkey in spring season, can I continue to call, without my weapon present, for a hunting partner?

Also check out youtube on how to make your own repellant refills & butane cartridge refills for the Thermacell. I have done both & they work well.

Never shot a coon or fox with mine. But I have shot several ground hogs. Drops them in their tracks.
