Would adding a water source, like a horse tank, to a property to attract deer be considered baiting?

Can a person with a comprehensive lifetime hunting license hunt deer in the Special Antlerless Firearms Season without buying a Bonus Antlerless License?

I would have guessed muffler bearing exhaust port.

Seems to me that putting names on deer will make it easier for "anti hunters" to make their case against us. Remember how adorable Bambi is? Or Thumper, or whoever.

Just a guess here. But there was a guy busted a year or so ago for carrying during youth hunt. Seems he shot the deer for his kid with his handgun & the the kid tagged it as if he shot it. I understand everyones issue with carrying while hunting but sometimes personal integrity goes out the window.

I got a Parker Tornado about a month ago. Like it a lot. Their lifetime warranty was a BIG consideration for me.

Can I shoot rabbits & coons out of season that are getting in my garden under the "nuisance" animal regulation?

Hi Jon, I feel your pain brother. About 4 years ago my doc told me the same thing. Weight loss truly is a life style change. He suggested the Southbeach diet. I gave it a try and it worked. Fortunately it recommended most foods that I already liked, just didn't eat them often enough. I've lost about 45 lbs. It's a low fat GOOD carb plan. It won't be easy, especially the first couple weeks. No more beer, cake, cookies, pie, pasta, rice, white sugar or most any fast food. After that you'll realize you CAN survive without them. I still have ice cream. Once a week instead of every night. Now instead of a handful of Oreo's at bedtime, it's a small handful lof grapes. Eating smaller portions with a healthy snack every 2 hours or so helped me thru the hunger pains (no donuts allowed). My weight & blood pressure are both down. I look forward to many years enjoying my grandkids & retirement.

I read this year's fishing regs & see that I can use "bow & arrow" to shoot carp in inland lakes. Does "bow & arrow" include a crossbow?

This was my 1st year for deer hunting & a good one at that. I took 2 button bucks about a week apart. The 1st was at 110 yds & he dropped in his tracks. The other about 50 yds & ran about 20 yds. Both were shot with a Traditions Vortek m/l. I've got to admit it's harder that I thought. And being 63 it was hard on me too. I'm having venison stew tonight so we'll see if it was worth the effort. Can't wait for next year already!

What if I shoot a deer near the end of legal shooting times & it runs off. When I finally find it after dark, it's still alive. Can I legally shoot it the 2nd time to dispatch it? Or do I have to watch it slowly die?

I'll keep this lesson in mind for my grandchildren. They may need it someday.

Anybody ever sign up for this thru the DNR & get selected? I'm thinking about it but wondered if it's for real. Gotta find a new spot this year.

You can always "restore" it to a previous date that you know it was working ok.

One of these days, maybe. Beautiful country. How did you guys find that place? Dogs? Details please. A friend of a friend of my brother's has been going there for about 10 years. They had an opening & I had just retired so I jumped on it. The dogs we used are in the 3rd pic. We hunted both public & private land. The private land was $50/day/person but well worth it. We encountered a lot of semis hauling hay to Texas for the drought they had last year. About ran us off the road a couple of times. The bales are huge, only 8/truck load. The trip was long from Ft Wayne but I hope to do it again someday.

I've read the new reg on size. Does it mean actually 12" x 12" or some length x width combo that equals 144 in sq like 24" x 6"?
