Well the Urban buck tag was filled this morning. Got tucked in the woods well before light. Around 7:30 I heard a branch crack a ways behind me. He was tearing up a tree then started across about a hundred yards away. I hit him with a grunt and that made him stop dead in his tracks and look my way. Typically I would never call again while they’re looking but since I had the tree between me and him I hit him with another one. Here he came to 22 yards behind me. Had to shoot him quartering to a bit but the arrow went clear through exiting his back thigh. Gave him 2 hours and ended up finding him about a hundred yards away. Awesome buck! Congrats Well done, a really nice buck.

First shot takes it unless it wasn’t a fatal hit. That’s the way we do it. Well we bumped him on accident, but my wife's uncle shot 1st and I heard his arrow hit a limb. I shot and heard a thud then it took off like a race horse. I made the final and fatal shot before he crossed the gravel road. Sounds like it’s yours to me.

I haven't opened it yet, but their catalog was in the mailbox today. Got one yesterday too. WOW!! Spendy. Everything. A couple of times a year they run some pretty good sales, I got mine then, never buy for full retail price.

Took this fella early this morning. Came in chasing a doe. Had him at 29yd for about 5min while I thought about it. Once he took a few steps, I decided he was a good one. Ranged him again at 33yd, and let him have it. Dressed out at 175#. Long body, very little fat. Nice one, congratulations buddy!

I have rain gear from KUIU, very expensive but it will keep you dry. I got it for my grizzly hunt, didn't want to get wet on the first day and be wet for the next 9 with no real way to dry it out. Very happy with it.

Not live from the stand, but been busy and no cell service at this particular stand. I took my youngest daughter to the neighbor's woods where she killed a nice 8 point last year. We got settled in about 3 pm central. No activity for the first hour, then had 2 small flocks of hens come through. They were leery of us and we couldn't get a clear shot close enough. They wandered off and it was quiet for another 30 minutes or so. About 5 pm I spotted a small buck directly behind us at maybe 15 yards. This stand I have set up nearly on a creek looking uphill where the deer generally move but he came in different. Our scent must've blew over his head because he made it to 20 yards quartering away. He saw us getting her crossbow ready, but just stood there looking at us. She made a perfect shot. He bucked and took off across the dry creek, blood gushing out the whole way and died maybe 40 yards from the shot location. We saw him go down but practiced blood trailing anyway. A few pics, gutted and drug the buck uphill a bit over 400 yards to another neighbor's yard where I borrowed his 4 wheeler for the rest of the way. Got him on ice and going to clean up. Happy and relieved both my girls got a deer. Will start chasing antlers myself starting next weekend. That's what it's all about right there. Getting our youth involved so that this sacred and privileged sport is continued and carried on. Congratulations on the successful harvest and many more in the future. Congratulations on a job well done!

I get turned off when I don't see the blood. arrow, and reality of taking an animal. It's the true reality of life. When it's real they might be able to handle it since they now know what it looks like. A huge difference of opinion. I've seen some pictures with all the blood and gore and watched as it completely turned off some non-hunters that were pro hunting to begin with. Right now 80% of the non-hunters thinks its OK to hunt, especially for food. I'd like to keep that percentage up there as more and more hunting is lost through the ballot box. The "reality of taking an animal" has nothing to do with a well presented picture of the animal taken. Blood, arrow in wound, tongue hanging out, hunter sitting astride the deer, in the back of a truck with littered beer cans does absolutely nothing for non-hunters to "be able to handle it". I agree with you Woody 100%
