Leaving for Wyoming for deer and antelope in the morning. Looks like I had better pack my wool longjohns. Openning day they are calling for temps of 39 for a high and 31 for a low. Critters should be on their feet and moving.

One thing I would like to add is go out and ask in the winter or during the mid summer period. I know from experience that the quickest way to get a no answer is to bother a farmer while he is busy on a tractor or combine.

Years ago I had a huge black Tom cat. One morning I walked about a half mile to my deer stand. Got up about 15’ all settled in and heard something scratching . Next thing I know here is Satan sitting in my lap. I didn’t have a clue he had followed me.

Kind of got myself addicted to shooting my .223's loaded to make a 55gr. bullet to conform with the Nikon M-223 scope. Well they aren't cheap, but once you get used to them, it's a fun way to hold dead on at different ranges. Got to thinking that if I should ever get another .223, I might want to lay another one back in the safe for future mounting. Get to looking around again for prices and Natchez has them again in the 1in. tube, and at 1/2 price. Seems Nikon is going to the 30mm way. Couldn't find any sites here in Indiana [land of taxes] that offered that price so I ordered the one from Natchez. Looked up the invoice and there was an Indiana Sales Taxes added even on the shipping. WTF is this county coming too? You can't find a great deal on what you want in this state, so you have to go out of state, and the politicians still want the tax because you found what you wanted, but it just happens to be over the state line. It seems that this chit is new on almost every thing, scopes, guns, cars you bought out of state while on vacation and drove it home, you owe INDY NOW WHERE money because you didn't buy it here. Maybe it's just way to many grey hairs on my head to understand this legal way of thinning your wallet. Someone out there care to sober me up to why I'm just not able to get with the program and bow to their way of thinking? They are making everybody legal by colecting sales tax on out of state purchases. If you look at the Indiana state tax return there is a place that you report out for state purchases and pay the sales tax. It has been that way for as long as I can remember. I woukld say 99% of the people never did it so now we have come to this.
