I killed my best bird on the last morning many years ago. Although my life wasn't so busy back then! Remember it’s a long time before you can chase them next spring.

Nephew is having fun today. He just called and asked if I would smoke one for him. Do you put them in a pipe or do you roll-em. Man, I got to get some sleep. I had to read that 3 times to get it!

My miss was not the scope. It’s my right eye. My macular degeneration is screwing up the crosshairs bad. Hard time describing it but all the lines are now squiggly. It used to be just the crosshairs and now it’s also the Diamond lines that I always center the turkeys head in. I really had to bear down and move the gun around until it looked as even as it could on the target. In the case of shooting AT the turkey it had to be a lot quicker as he was feeding popping his head up and down. I might have to learn to shoot left handed or maybe try a red dot. Or quit altogether. Getting old ain't for sissies.. Don’t ever quit until you can no longer hold the gun!!!

He was about a hundred yards away from me but too much brush to see him for about an hour. He would answer every call I threw at him but he wouldn’t come any closer. I must have finally talked dirty enough to him he finally came in on a straight shot. Took him at 50yds with the old 10 ga. Now on to Michigan.
