Why do some guys leave the tongue hanging out when pictures are taken?

Why do some guys leave the tongue hanging out when pictures are taken? They care enough to take a picture...just not to care how it looks....smh

I don't care if in or out. Most times I don't think of it when taking a picture.

To be fair, sometimes the tongue flops out when you lift the head up. I've had some where I never noticed until reviewing the photos days later.

I would suggest the word harvest instead of either catches or killed. I am with you on the whole tongue hanging out thing. It's never bothered me. I know some people get really worked up about it but I just don't see what the big deal is. Honestly I really only take pictures just so I have a date stamp for my harvest because I always seem to get my years mixed up in my head. The dates on pictures help sort some of that out.

Next time take some duct tape with you and make about 3 wraps around the deer's snout. Problem solved. I'm sure it would look a lot better than that tongue hanging out *rolls eyes

Ha, I just revisited the link, and they removed all references to having "caught" the deer.

One of the things my kids will tell you is that I am VERY particular about taking pics of the dead deer. I try to minimize the blood and I try very hard to put the tongue away as well. I also don't put hats on them or a cigarette in their mouth or the like. I also try to cover them when transporting. I try to treat them with respect, and respect that other folks may not wish to see it. As for shooting an antlered doe....that would certainly be surprising... One of my favorite internet stories is about a guy who tried to "catch" a deer. Not sure how true it is/was...but it's certainly funny. The ding-dong tied a rope to his waist and then tried to rope a deer.....as the story goes, things didn't go to well for him! www.freerepublic.com/focus/chat/2390371/posts

If it’s big enough that I will be taking a lot of pictures from different angles I will go ahead and cut the tongue out so it doesn’t fall out without me noticing.

Lol. From the article: "a female doe". lol. Maybe since the article is about a female buck they felt the need to clarify. This is like the most Bruce Jennerest of deer ever.

The better image conveyed to non-hunters or even anti's is stronger when they see our respect for them.

My images don't get to anti-hunters because I generally don't post them on the net. If I were going to post them on the net I would at least make sure there was very little blood showing. I'm not sure if I'd think about the tongue but I will try to be more aware of it from now on.

Non-hunters are mostly on our side and I’d like to keep it that way.
The respect shown for the animal we take is of utmost importance when posting or showing our pictures.
One I dislike worse than the protruding tongue is the arrow still sticking out of the animal with copious amounts of blood from the wound.
It doesn’t take a lot of effort to get the animal presentable for photographs that don’t turn off people.

It's the true reality of life. When it's real they might be able to handle it since they now know what it looks like.
