I have seen a few of those for a decent price but the no power would be a killer for me. Do they have decent suspension. Or is it pretty rough getting through tough terrain? I've put that thing through the paces. It's not a rzr, but it's supposed to be. I'm not asking for a RZR like ride but I've been impressed driving in a ranger over some pretty rutted up and pothole filled fields. Just didn't know if it felt like a solid axle or if it absorbed things pretty well.

I have a kawasaki mule 610. It is decent off road( 4wd and locking diffs). But it has no power and it doesn't haul a lot. It's the baby in the mule family. I bought a Polaris 500 mid size in 2013 and love it. Went with the 500 over the 400 because of fuel injection....The single cylinder sips gas compared to my 800 Polaris sportsman ATV. Not an ounce of trouble out of it and I can't imagine not having one now. Have you ever thought you needed more power? I'm really wanting to hook a 7x10 trailer up to it with a decent pile of logs on it. Think it would have any issues?

I do like kubotas and drove them when I was on the grounds crew at ipfw. They have a lot of power but the off-road capabilities are a bit rough.
I've gotten pricing on A John Deere and it was rather high. I just don't like how the foot room is hindered by the wheel well and the dash is pretty low. I feel like a cab would be pretty bulky vs some of the others that are designed a little more for a cab.
I forgot to mention that I love the Honda pioneer but they are salty as well. I like the real gear driven transmission and the option to have two seats in the bed but new they are pretty expensive.

Hey all, looking at purchasing a UTV within the next month or so. Trying to do my research now.
Anyone here have one, if so what do you have and what are your thoughts?
I am really liking the Polaris Ranger 570 full size.
Seems like used ones have no depreciation... I can't believe the price some of these people are asking on CL. They cost more than I could buy a new one for including their accessories and they're 2-6 years old!

It looks great and is certainly an upgrade from the old one. From what I understand the manual for the other one said it could use up to 150 grain of powder and I think even said triple 7. I guess the barrel material wasn't capable of using that much and the pressures created would end with the barrel blowing up.

did you have any perennial clover in your plots? If so I would keep it mowed this spring & summer in hopes of attracting some deer to the plots. Maybe they will get to know that there is food here and hang around for the next fall plantings. Yes there was. I know how much there was based on percentage of seed but not sure how much that actually turns into long term. I will keep an eye out and mow it. The turnips were huge though!

So to update for the year. The plots looked awesome all year. The problem is they either tasted like garbage or the deer just didn't know that it was all edible... Very frustrating seeing a beautiful green lush plot of a whole mix of things and no deer on it. Next year I will plant something in the same area but will work harder on the access routes and try to get some better cover for them.

Well I got a muzzle loader a year or so ago from my father in law (no real sentimental value on it as it wasn't his lifelong gun or anything just a cheapo he didn't really want). It was a CVA Appollo. It was in relatively rough shape. Some rust on the outside of the barrel and when I got it was completely disassembled.
I shot it on a few occasions. Not a bad gun by any means but nothing special.
I started searching for more info on it online and stumbled across a voluntary recall by CVA. My serial number was in it so contacted them and they said to send it in and give them 3 weeks to process it. Got a box this week and was interested to see if it was just a different version of the Appollo or not. I got a brand new CVA Wolf! Went from a percussion cap gun to a breakdown Shotgun primer. The Appollo was a 1995 version. Pretty excited about this.

Also, there is the matter of insurance that the owner won't get sued if a Hunter gets injured on the owners' land, unrelated to actual hunting. This fact is closing more and more private land availability to Hunters. Having a Hunter sign a "waver" would help but not assure a place to hunt. The laws may have changed but used to be you could not get sued as long as you were not changing people for the use of your property.I thought it was still that way but could be wrong. It is to the point now that hunting leases are and will be the way of the future. You really can't blame the farmers for going this route. The prices being paid from out of state hunters are so high no one could refuse them.My cousin has his dad's farm,110 acres and 4 guys from the east coast give him $3000 for one-weekend hunt! You just can't turn that down and you can't compete with it. Wade I think there is a waiver in the DNR magazine that they put out. I've only skimmed it but I think it says something to the point of landowner is not responsible for any accidents for a given person using their land for hunting.

Nascar racing has 2 too many wheels. Moto GP and AMA flat track trips my trigger. Those guys on the GP circuit are crazy... I used to race sportbikes at the club level. I think what kills that sport is the cost to race vs how much money can be made. Ama road racing the factories pulled out but the cost of racing is only going up. I cringe at the amount of money I used to spend racing club events in the Midwest. Back when I watched MotoGP got boring because the races got too spread out like NASCAR and there wasn't any back and forth competition.

I love racing however I wouldn't cross the street to watch a NASCAR race live even if the tickets were free. NASCAR needs to get back to good old fashion grassroots racing where you have heat races to decide the starting line up then a 100-200 lap race and all of this in one day. You folks who say you don't care to watch racing need to see a friday/saturday night hoosier dirt track race, especially sprint cars. I have been to one NASCAR race and a few Indy races. I would take a night at Baer field or Angola anytime over NASCAR or Indy.

How good of an edge does it make? I have been using a Lansky sharpening system with the small stones on a guide rod. That takes a good while to get a knife sharp. I have one of these as well and so far has been the best edge I've ever gotten. I have heard their customer service is good. I have a knife that needs a new torsion bar in it. Broke after about 5 years of daily carry and they will replace the part if able to for free if not they may repair with other components or something like that. They have a section that asks if this knife has any special sentimental value to you, I would hope to keep the knife the same or let you know if it's irreparable before just tossing and getting you a new one. I didnt think about it but you said ken onion and I automatically suspected Kershaw, is this sharpener made by Kershaw?

I've just used corded drills on the flywheel if you can get to it. Works good for motors your trying to work on that you don't have a starting point for the jets. Just turn the motor over with drill while adjusting the needle to get a starting point.

I picked up a 99 F250 2wd gas with 100k less miles for 3500 from a dealer 2 months ago. I'm not sure diesel and 4x4 is worth another 5 grand in that old of a truck. Maybe I'm wrong. Brand new festiva's can be picked up for 15000 or less, especially with model end clearance sales Yea I haven't looked at the classified ad in a while. I currently have the truck for $7000 and car is listed at $9000. So yea the price may have been high there, heck maybe it still is. And depends on the person, I personally wouldn't buy a 2wd truck and I wouldn't buy a 3/4 in gas because of the mpg I've seen on most of them but again I know people that wouldn't buy a diesel and wouldn't own a 3/4 ton and wouldn't buy a 4wd so personal preference. The new (assume you meant fiesta?) ones you've seen are they base models or equivalent SE?

I don't really have a Facebook anymore but my wife has shared them on there.
I'm sure it's a good combo of everything you guys have said. Both take someone specifically looking for that vehicle.
I have been asked to trade everything under the sun for the truck. Dirtbike that don't run, old beat up trucks 2wd straight up, sound systems, etc. Been offered way less than I'm selling for, asked to sell on payments and I get calls everyday from a place in Nevada telling me they have buyers in my area that are approved and looking for a vehicle like mine and if I pay them $200 they will get them to buy my truck and I get the $200 back 100% garanteed. I said if it's garanteed just sell my truck no $200...
Sorry too, I really didn't mean to post this hoping to sell in the campfire thing just more of a vent for my lack of ability to sell or you guys to tell me I'm nuts and they are only worth half what I was asking.

Hmm I don't know what it could be. I rarely look for a vehicle, they always seem to find me. Maybe people are more into buying newer right now. Either that or just that fuzzy feeling of finding the same thing at a dealer and paying more. I haven't found something with comparable miles, body style or lower price anywhere online.

97 f250 and a 2014 Ford fiesta. Only thing I can think of to better the hits is lower the prices. I try to respond very quick, take additional photos if Requested, I don't live on a traveled road so that doesn't help if I put them out front. Never had this much trouble selling vehicles in the past.
