I have one from last year that was never lit and the batteries are dead... 1 of 3 that didn't make it a year.

Just curious how much land everyone has to hunt and how they got it, family, asked permission, lease, public, etc.
How far away do you live from your hunting place?

I live in a county that I cannot legally take my ranger down the road, if they did change the laws then I would expect the rules to change so it is the same statewide and I would expect to be able to drive it on road. I really don't expect to register my vehicle for using it on my land same as I'm not planning to register my trailers that I have that I use to get wood and use on my land and not on road.

I haven't looked into this too much but I bought a new ranger this year. the dealer registered it for me much like a car would be. I haven't seen anything in the mail such as a sticker or anything. If I look online there is a county by county listing of who is allowed to drive them on road. www.in.gov/dnr/outdoor/4431.htm

I just did some oats, wheat, brassicas (no idea what biologic put in them) and clover. To fill in where deer destroyed my beans. Everything I can find says 100# per acre for forage oats. Hoping for rain tomorrow and next day.

Even "effected soil" is iffy.... Was there a soil test prior to putting a mineral out to get a base of what is effected an what isn't effected? What about a heavy rain that disperses the containment over a large area? Flooded creeks or rivers? And on and on. As written the law is difficult if not impossible to follow in many circumstances. I always thought this too. Wasn't there something in the dnr book a few years ago that a mineral soil was considered an area 10 feet diameter and 3 feet deep? I could be making that up but thought it was in Indiana's yearly book a couple years ago. I wouldn't use any mineral blocks, trophy rocks or powders for that reason.

The thing that really gets me is the advertised bait "looks like dirt"... Not sure that the deer care which color it is but somebody must.

I bought one online and on my way back I checked what they had on the shelf and saw a tasco 6mp for $24. It looked to have the date and time stamp on the images too. Might have to get another camera now.

Works but generates some heat and scent. Noted, I'll avoid using it hunting then. The scent that it gives off is far less noticeable than me swinging madly at mosquitoes slowly killing me.

I think they work better than bug spray. Again mostly sitting still or not a lot of wind. Right, if there is too much wind the thermocell doesn't work but at that point the skeeters aren't too bad anyways. I've been carrying it in our ranger here recently. Keeps me bite free.

I kind of flipped a house. It was one of those deals where they built it in 05 when the banks were giving out ridiculous loans to people and within 5 years they trashed the house and it was forclosed. The good thing was that we didn't have any structural issues and the mechanics were good. New floors throughout the whole house, fixed water damage, few new windows that were broken, lots of broken water lines and manifold since they winterized it after the first winter and it froze, new interior doors since they judo kicked them open, new toilets since they either broke them or they froze and broke, shelves in closets were ripped out of the drywall, new paint all the way around, landscaping and new appliances. House sold within a week of being on the market for a couple thousand less than the asking price.
We used the profit for our house out in the country, after all the realtor fees it gave us our 20% down. We lived in it for about 2 years. If you don't sell it within a year (I think it's 1 year) there is no tax on profit if you sell before a year you get the flippers tax.

Just my opinion you might want to save money and pass on the roof and windshield. To easy to break or scratch the windshield and the roof serves no purpose. Put your money on a good heavy duty 2" receiver,a good permanently mount slow moving vehicle sign, a bed liner and maybe some CV joint boot protectors. Dealers make their money by selling accessories, also it's cheaper to buy your air/oil filters from your local auto supply store. I wouldn't be without a roof and windshield, keeps you much dryer and warmer. If you don't want to pay the price for factory stuff, I suppose you could make a windshield out of a piece of 1/4" plexiglass and something else for a roof? Second for the 2" hitch receiver. I think those are pretty standard? Don't know why you would need a bed liner? The beds are already plastic. This was all my thoughts as well. Yes they come standard with a 2" receiver, plastic bed.

I pull my cornpro trailer with mine...12' long and maybe 1300lbs for the trailer and another 2000lbs in stuff the heaviest I've pulled. The biggest problem you will have pulling super heavy loads is the rear independent suspension. It will collapse under too much weight. But no, I've never felt the need for more power. I know that their XP I think has those load leveling shocks. Haven't looked but wonder if those are available as a retrofit. I haven't looked at the 570 full size but some of their models have multiple suspension mounts to modify their suspension geometry.

Well I stopped in at the Polaris dealer yesterday and they had a sage green ranger 570 full size. $1000 off retail and they are giving me a good deal on accessories like roof, windshield etc. Didn't officially buy it but he is getting all the paperwork ready and should have it finished Monday.
I'm not nearly as big of a fan of the dash compared to the new 900 and 1000, they have an option for a body (formed roll cage and dash like the new ones) like the 900 and 1000 but it's $2000 more. The thing I like about the round roll cage is the accessories are a lot cheaper. Almost half of what they are for their formed roll cage.

I bout my wife a pair of Itasca boots last week for $7. They only had men's size 12 and women's size 7. Too good of a deal to pass up. I also couldn't seem to pass up an LED 2 million candle power lithium ion rechargable spotting scope for $12.

Is yours full size or mid size? It's not a UTV; it's ATV. Same engine though. Aren't you curious what I was trying to pull that broke the straps? Yes what exactly were you pulling? And sorry just figured it was a UTV.

Have you ever thought you needed more power? I'm really wanting to hook a 7x10 trailer up to it with a decent pile of logs on it. Think it would have any issues? Dusty, I have pulled my trailer loaded when loaded with wood with my mower. It being hydraulic, made easy work of it. I have attempted to do more than my 570 Polaris could handle, and the wheels would just spin even with my big butt on it. Tried the same thing with donkey and the tow straps broke. I really like my Polaris 570, but I rarely go over 20mph. It was recommended to me to not use the high gear in these conditions. It will save wear on the belt to run in low most of the time. As far as power goes, I'd get as much as I could afford. If I had Woody's money, I'd get the biggest beast offered. Is yours full size or mid size?
