I never thought I would see the day that I would ever use an electric knife sharpener. About 8 months ago I was hearing a lot of good things about this knife sharpener on line. I always in the past used a steel and a diamond plate or a stone to sharpen my knives. I broke down and bought the KO Worksharp. I really was amazed how well this thing works. Very easy after a few times with an old blade for practice, I was breaking out my very best blades and using it. My Grand Pa is rolling over in his grave I know. He was a meat cutter and was the one who taught me how to use a steel.
Anyway, couple weeks ago I knocked the sharpener of my very neat and organized work bench (so much junk on it it's a hazard area). It broke the housing of the motor and it quit working. I was PO after spending 129 bucks for it. I called the company to see if they could repair it after I told them what had happened the lady ask me what the sticker on the bottom date was, I told her and she said they would send me a new one. I thought I misunderstood what she said, but after telling her it was my fault that it was broke a second time and would pay to have it fixed if possible, she said they would still send me a new motor no charge. It came yesterday and what really amazes me they didn't even want the old one back and paid the shipping on the new motor. So I thought I would give the Worksharp Company a salute for being a fine company that went above and beyond in customer service which it seems is getting rare today. These sharpeners are USA made, another big plus. I highly recommend this sharpener and this company if your in the market for a nice, easy to use sharpener. They also make the Drill Doctor drill bit sharpener, another fine tool.

How good of an edge does it make? I have been using a Lansky sharpening system with the small stones on a guide rod. That takes a good while to get a knife sharp.

I have one of these as well and so far has been the best edge I've ever gotten. I have heard their customer service is good. I have a knife that needs a new torsion bar in it. Broke after about 5 years of daily carry and they will replace the part if able to for free if not they may repair with other components or something like that. They have a section that asks if this knife has any special sentimental value to you, I would hope to keep the knife the same or let you know if it's irreparable before just tossing and getting you a new one.

It really depends on how far you take it. Go with the finest belt and you can get a blade scary sharp.

I bought one after watching my wifes uncle sharpen some knives. It is AWESOME!!! I love it. As said, practice on some old knives to get the hang of it. Then, move up. So easy, so fast. Well worth my money.

I hear the wicked edge beats both this and the lanksy. For the price tag it better blow them out of the water and sharpen knives for me.
