Nice bucks everyone. Here's mine. Nothing special. My roofer called and said they will be out Tuesday and it will take all week so my selection on size went down. Trying to fill the freezer. Nice buck @waynes ! He might not be 170.. Or 150.. But he is a nice buck. In fact, he looks about identical to the buck I killed last year.

Not a single deer tonight. Wind sucked though.

I bought 4 Rhino blinds last year from Walmart @ $25 apiece. I just got the first one out today and put it down by the creek after getting some good action on trail cameras down there.
First impression is that I like the windows much better than my Radar or Ameristep blinds. I'm not crazy about how the door snaps instead of zips.
The only thing I don't like about blinds is not having that bird's eye view you get in a stand. I find myself usually placing blinds on high spots with gun hunting in mind.

I'm back in the quad pod stand I sat in this morning, where I just saw the one doe. I pulled the card from the camera I have in this spot, and it shows a lot more evening movement than morning activity in this spot. I'm really not sure why, since the deer appear to be moving in the opposite direction away from the corn and bean fields in the PM hours. I suppose there must be a grove of oaks with a good acorn drop somewhere they're headed, over on neighbors. I expect it will take me a couple seasons to really figure out the deer movement here.

All I saw this morning was one doe out through the brush. Thought I heard some grunting at one time. Pretty slow morning.
I'm at work now, plan is to get a few hours in then back out in the woods this evening.

I drove out to Big Oaks yesterday afternoon for my safety brief, all ready to go for my hunt there Sunday.
This morning I'm in one of my quad pod blinds at my place. I've already heard several deer moving out in front of me.

I checked a few of my cameras tonight and have a little bit of mature buck daytime activity going on. Quite a few bucks moving right at daylight and dark also, but some midday as well.

I have a couple and like them, although they're not my favorite rifles.
As stated before, my biggest gripe is the noise from charging.

Thinking back, I think I've only ever had one deer sit overnight. A doe shot in early October, probably 40* low. I processed it myself and ate the whole thing, if it was rotten I didn't notice.
Obviously not an ideal scenario though.

I'm up in the climber. Wind is more SE here, so I had to adjust my plan a little bit.

I accidentally stepped on my crossbow getting out of my climber last night. Upon inspection, the scope rail seemed loose. I took it apart, tightened everything down, reassembled and test shot it last night, and everything seems fine now.
Weather looks good for tonight, and buck movement seems to be picking up!
