I only saw one doe and a coyote this morning.
Got down at noon and went to town, should be set for a while.
Had a rodeo with one of the dogs coming in tonight. She is the only one smart enough to escape from the pen, and I haven't got around to fixing it yet. She started to follow me into the woods, so I took her back and put her in the pen. She usually stays put for a while before she squirms under the deck to escape. Well, this time she's out again and running my trail just as soon as I'm getting settled in to the stand. I texted my wife, who tried to call her back to no success. The dog just kept running up/down my scent trail. So I climb down, which freaks the dog out, and I had to go catch her. She's up in the tower stand with me now. I've got her tied in with my pull up rope so she can't jump out.

Is it steep enough that you'd have to cut into the hillside? Or could you go straight up and down?
I cut roughly a mile of trails through my place this past spring with a pair of shears, electric chainsaw, and riding mower. About half of that is wide enough for a pickup, the rest just lawnmower width. I didn't have any hills too steep for a 4x4 truck to climb though.

I'm in what I would consider to be my best stand. It's also my most comfortable, a quad pod with blind and my $2 yard sale chair.
I may sit all day or might run into town later, depends on what I'm seeing and feeling.

All I saw last night was one doe. I did hear grunting nearby right before dark, followed by sounds of chasing. I'm in the same spot tonight.

I don't know if the original post was supposed to be funny or not, but I got a kick out the "6 times" thing. Lol!

I'm in a brand new spot, looks pretty good. It's warm, but with the clouds feels better than the past few days.

I had elk last night that I killed 25 months ago, frozen in freezer ziploc bags.
Last week I finished my bear, killed 18 months ago, frozen in freezer ziploc bags.
I've never lost any meat to "freezer-burn" or the like, but I do squeeze as much air out as possible and I double bag all of it.

I didn't see anything tonight.
I plan on hunting the next couple evenings, but I'm really looking forward to an all day hunt Wednesday.

I only saw one small buck this morning. He spent several minutes walking up and down the creek bank looking for a spot to cross, then finally just jumped in and swam over.

The wind was blowing, fairly hard, in every direction. I hate to not be hunting, but I called it quits. I'm not ready to burn a spot on an 80* day.

Man, I am soaked with sweat. Literally saturated.
I checked the wind, seemed to be SE as predicted. I go out at 2:30, get my climber up a tree, and the wind starts blowing from the NW. I sat there for about 10 minutes with that wind before climbing down and packing the climber back to the house.
The wind seems pretty stiff from the W/NW now, but I'm afraid to go into my best westerly wind stand for fear the wind will switch back SE. So, I'm sitting where I sat last night.
On the plus side, what was a perfectly healthy bush last night has been destroyed in front of my stand.

10point Congrats! I never would have expected the coyotes to get on him before dark.

I saw two, possibly 3 bucks this morning. The wind then switched from SE to straight west. It's still blowing like that here at the house. I came inside, will go back out around 3 and hopefully the wind will have straightened back out.

Man, is it hot.
I'm hunting here at home tonight, first time since last Saturday. I checked a few cams, not much action at all since it got hot. Last shooter buck on cam was noon Tuesday, in front of the stand I'm in right now.
They're still harvesting the corn across the road though, it's probably 2/3 of the way done. I expect that to change the activity here quite a bit.

I only saw one doe tonight.
On the plus side, when I got home I saw that the farmer is picking the corn across the road.
