Does anyone here use a Rhino Blind? If so, care to share your likes and dislikes?

I think Woody mentioned them? Maybe it was just they were on clearance or something. I have seen them but no experience.
Funny you bring a blind up. We were just talking about them after my morning turkey hunt. I said I would like to put up another 1 or 2 since they are so comfortable and appealing out of the weather. I can sit in a folding bag chair in a blind as long as anyone, and not have a sore back or be weather shy. Just commenting I want to spend more quality time, meaning quantity per sit, in prime time and locations this year.

Just commenting I want to spend more quality time, meaning quantity per sit, in prime time and locations this year. I have a couple old commercial ground blinds from Gander Mountain. Man, they`re small, and to enter, I literally have to crawl in. I`ve seen some of the new blinds that have an entire panel that lifts up and they look like they`d be great to get in and out of. My two major issues with ground blinds are getting them staked down well enough so they stay in place, and then, the hunter orange requirement. I bought hunter orange pieces that fit over them, but they`re difficult to get to stay down without being noisy and blowing around in the wind. I like being in a ground blind out of the weather too, but it sure isn`t easy to find something that set`s up easy. I worry about theft too.

I have a rhino 75 and a barronett hub blind and I use the 10 inch long plastic stakes from Wal Mart and they hold it in place really well. And for the hunter orange I picked up some hunter orange at hobby lobby and some magnets and super glued them to the blind and the orange squares and I just slap on when I get there and yank em off when I leave.

How about the "shoot thru mess"? Has any used a firearm with the shoot through mess? Good or bad results? Does the mess interfere with your scope? Does your range finder work?

I've got two Rhinos. They are pretty good quality for the price. But I am a cheapskate and usually buy them at Walmart post season using Brickseek to find the deals..
I use Army surplus aluminum tent stakes and stake down all corners AND the guy ropes. The guy ropes are important as the wind will collapse a side and then it REALLY catches the wind causing mass destruction or the blind getting blown away. .

I thought that was you that mentioned them before. Got to give you credit for "guy" ropes. You dont hear that used correctly much.

I always thought the shoot thru mesh was for fixed broadheads only. I always heard the mesh could catch fire if a firearm was used to shoot thru them...

Well, I went after a Rhino blind. My local Walmart showed they had one in stock on their website. But, it was gone when I arrived. So, I ended up getting an Ameristep Caretaker instead. It's a two man blind they claim but, really just a cozy one man. No doubt two people can sit inside but, it'd be a little tight.
The caretaker does not have shoot through mesh so that eliminates the question of "to mesh or not to mesh"? Lol!
I have it set up in my yard now with the orange cloth pinned on it, my chair and Caldwell field pod inside. Letting them all air out some before I set it up in the field.
The reason I got the blind is because I finally got the go ahead to hunt a field I have been wanting to hunt for the past 18 years. There were hunters on it before but, they have cleared all the timber off the property and the hunters vacated. There is a large woodlot that boarders the east edge that has no hunting allowed. There's a ditch on the south boarder that goes back to those woods with some tall grass. I plan on placing this blind in that grass about 100 yards from the woods.

It doesn't survive a gunshot very well...a giant hole is torn through it before the bullet ever reaches it. Not tried a rangefinder through it but I'll venture a guess it won't work. At all.

I killed mine out of a $99 Rhino blind from Rural King this year. They all work good if you brush them in enough. I also have a Double Bull. There is a noticeable difference between the amount of light let in by the Rhino due to the clip on entry instead of the zipper like the double bull. But only using one window with the mesh still on, the Rhino will save you hundreds of dollars and give you the same results.. I feel like mine will probably last two more years, where as my double bull has last me over 5 years with no issues at all.

I think one of the most important things for a blind is for it to have the lo ops on the outside that you can put brush in. Here's a picture of my muddy infinity blind that I'm currently sitting in right now.

If a guy was going to try to do the super glue with the magnets on the orange material and the blind...would there be anything he ought to know about magnet placement and all? Like are the magnets placed inside the blind or on top? and same for the magnets on the orange material?

No rhino blinds here, but I would love to chime in on my opinion of blinds in general.
I urge you, DO NOT buy the tiny cheap ones, period. - you can’t stand and stretch - getting a weapon ready is damn near impossible unless you’re using a handgun. - with a small one, you get rained on still through the flaps. With a larger one, you can sit closer to the center and miss most of the rain that makes it in.
I’m 5’10” / 220lbs, and it feels like I’m sitting in a large umbrella when I’m in one of those. Sitting in a chair is comfy, but not having room to unpack a bag/stretch/ turn my chair around without a headache / etc makes them impractical unless you’re putting a small child with a short weapon in them.
I have the $100 60x60 that tractor supply sells, and I love it. It pops up by pulling out the center of each panel , instead of doing one of those foldy/twisty methods some use. The rear panel has a zipper on each side, allowing easy entry/exit. I just leave them unzipped, and push/pull to get in and out. Four yellow plastic tent stakes from Walmart hoods it down fine.
Currently Rural King has a 60x60 ground blind in their recent ad for around $40!
That’s all I have to say about that.

That’s all I have to say about that.
