Saw three bucks Saturday while squirrel hunting and they still had their headgear. Glad to see they made it through this far.

I am a Steelers fan but I don't believe they can beat the Patriots.

Well we went to Home Show this afternoon and my suggestion is don't go on the first afternoon! All the vendors were very eager to sell. I realize this is what the show is too them but we couldn't look at anything without someone bombarding us. We would look down an isle and see several just standing there waiting so we would skip the isle. Again I fully understand they are there to make sales and money but it was overwhelming. We were only there about one hour, saw the home they built, and the wife said she was ready to go. One good thing is that she wasn't able to get a bunch of new ideas for projects for me

She also mentioned locally made Bowles mattresses. Anyone tried one of those?

I just replace my old lumpy bed traditional two weeks ago. Since I am not young I went with a med-firm foam bed. When I was in Taiwan the past summer I slept in one and like it. I bought Amerisleep Reverve foam mattress and platform foundation. It has the highest rating. No box springs required. The mattress $1099 and platform $169 from Amazon. I like that the bed is lower to the ground and easy to get in and out. So far, its the best bed I have ever slept in. No back pain when I wake up etc. I just hated spending $1300 for a bed. My wife mentioned Amerisleep but was concerned about the memory foam being too hot? We had pillows made of that and didn't like them.

Wife and I are looking into buying a new mattress. Ours is, hate to say it, 25 years old. Definitely got our money out of it. So what is everyone's opinion on a new one. Hoping to keep it right at $1000 if that is even possible now?

Let's bring back LTL sales for one day and see how many of these guys jump at the chance to get one. I kick myself every year that I didn't buy my kids one when they were little. I promised them I would buy their bundle license for them from now on.

Another guy that authorities knew had issues and what was done about it? He was charged with domestic violence and violated the conditions of his release and he's still out and about. There used to be mental facilities for these types! There is no way anyone could have prevented this mentally ill individual from obtaining a gun. As for medical Facilities for these type individuals, they had their funds cut and many ill individuals are now roaming the streets. Sad but true. Fine line between someone being crazy and someone just being "odd". Scary thinking about who gets to make that determination.

Well finally got all my canning done and ready for the cupboard. Like I said before this is my first time canning bluegills so we will see how it is once I open some up. Bayou Bill Scifres once said just to open a can, stir it up and spread it on crackers. Sounds good at least. The deer I know will be good on about anything. Stay warm everyone!

Some remodeling on the house. Momma now says she wants white woodwork after 30 years of stained!? Major chore.. Another Habitat for Humanity home build is underway. Between my home remodeling and Habitat I'll be busy until at least turkey season.. I've got the .243 so I might try to lure in a coyote or two.... Mine has decided the same. She wants the kitchen cabinets white and all the trim in the house white. All of it is stained now. Still trying to decide if it wouldn't be easier to remove it all, paint it and reinstall? Won't be easy either way.

Hope to shoot a few coyotes still this winter and probably go out after some squirrels still. Other than that will start getting ready for spring fishing and turkey hunts.

I lost most of my best mushroom patches and haven't found a good mess for several years. I usually find a few while turkey hunting but hard to stop and pick when we are after a gobbler.

I do believe the coyotes are hard on the fawns. Turkeys also of course.
