I'm asking for prayers for my dad who will have surgery this Thursday. He will have an aneurism repaired on his aorta that caused his kidneys problems November 14th. Two hospital stints is what it took to get to where we are now. Surgeons are confident and so is my family. Pray for minimal damage surrounding the kidneys and where the aneurism is. We have a few churches in town praying for him along with family and friends, but the more the merrier. He is in great spirits and ready for this surgery to be over. I know he's in good hands and that God is control. Thanks guys. God Bless!

Thank you everyone for the prayers. The surgery went as well as it could have gone. They freed up the tubes to the kidneys that were being blocked by the aneurism and also repaired the aneurism. It was a three hour surgery. I came down with the stomach bug yesterday at work and was throwing up so I didn't make it to the hospital with my family today. Just got a FaceTime call from my brother in the room with Dad. He looked very out of it from the drugs but was still talking. The power of prayer shined bright this morning. I can't thank everyone enough. God bless.

He is out of ICU. Today he got moved about an hour ago. Took catheter out and also took a neck iv out. He has a morphine button but says where they cut him open still hurts every once in a while. He is good spirits and doing very good for the surgery he just had. Very blessed. Thanks for the prayers guys. Can't wait for him to be back home!

Thanks guys. His kidney numbers made a big jump in the right direction today as well. He is comfortably numb from the drugs. Went for a walk and sat in his chair for a while. Morphine button is gone now and he is on pain pills from now on. God Bless.

Morphine button is gone now and he is on pain pills from now on. God Bless. This sure seemed to be a more major procedure. Three hours under the knife is a long time. Any idea where they had to cut him? Anytime they've cut me, I've hurt for a while. So happy he is doing better. We'll pray he comes home this week.

John, they cut him from his chest to below his belly button. A large cut. He is on very good medication to keep pain down. No eating yet. They want him to pass gas then they will put him on a fluid diet. Before surgery they told him 7 to 10 days recovery and we haven't heard differently. So I'm thinking this weekend or early next week will be coming home time. He's watching playoff football so he is doing fine. Haha.

This should certainly improve his quality of life. He's relatively young, yes? You still have a grandfather alive, don't you? I hope this brings all your family closer and closer to the Lord.

Yes john, he's only 57. Spring chicken, right? Yes my grandfather is still alive and well. He's 70. This whole thing has definitely done both. Brought us closer and closer to God. He has said a few times he could feel the prayers and support from everyone.
