Here is a pic of a buck I call Wide Load. I know some guys don't like it when people name deer but I think it makes it a more personal challenge if you know who you are after. Now I am not into the whole score thing but what do you all think this buck might score? How wide do you think he is? Anyway he is my top priority this season.

I can't tell if he is a 9 or 10 point which would make a big difference in the net score, but I would say that buck will gross high 150s or low 160s. I'd say he is 20-22 inches wide. One thing is for sure, he is a stud! Doesn't appear to be very old, but that wouldn't stop me from letting the air out of him!

Seems to me that putting names on deer will make it easier for "anti hunters" to make their case against us. Remember how adorable Bambi is? Or Thumper, or whoever.

Seems to me that putting names on deer will make it easier for "anti hunters" to make their case against us. Remember how adorable Bambi is? Or Thumper, or whoever. Anti's will try and make a case no matter what. I don't really see a problem with it. I have named a few of my deer and it's really for no other reason, in my case anyhow, than to better relate to the deer when I am sharing the encounters with friends. Last year I saw several 8 and 9 point bucks on the farm. Now the one I was after had a distinctive rack. I could tell my buddies "I saw the wide 9 point with the laid back G2 that is almost as straight as a dagger today." or I could just say "Hey Dagger walked by today". Just simplifies things and when I share my pics and put a name to them, my buddies know exactly who I am talking about. Just my $.02

Thanks for sharing the photo. I think he grosses 130's at best and He looks about 20" wide to me. Interested to hear other's guesses. Good luck with Wide Load, get him on the ground so we can know his score.

Glover has a really unique rack. Would like to see a pic of him hard horned.

You've got some nice ones running around. I don't know much, but the wide 9 does look young. They're all big to me.

Glover is a cool looking deer! Shorty and Sticker are nice but Glover and Wide Load would be at the top of my list. Not sure how old Glover is though. Might would give him a pass.

Very impressive group of bucks.
I'd be happy to chase after any one of those.

Very nice deer, especially the wide load buck. I would guess around 150 gross...

Gonna say high 140's just because he will be scored as 8 point. Definitely a shooter in anyone's eye's. (Like the name also). We name all the buck's on our hit list too . Wouldn't worry abount the anti hunter's. Doubt we have many on this site. LOL
