Look up JT Calls and Sport n wood game calls. Both have pot calls that are waterproof and both are just great at making turkey calls. I personally know the owners of Sport n wood and they are great people and make some really great calls too. I would recommend checking both of them out.

Sometimes, you just get plain lucky. I was setup in a blind and watching my decoys look like drunken dogs chasing their tails in the wind in Ohio county. I should've been paying attention to the field, like a great hunter would do. Instead, I was reading this forum and the local news app when I caught movement. This guy came into the decoys and was on top of them before I had even seen him. I hadn't heard any talking and so I hadn't made a peep all morning. He was in half strut when the wind decided it was a good time to bend my strutter decoy over and he then got a little spooked. At this time, he decided it might be a good time to start heading back to the woods. I was born at night but not last night and I knew I wasn't about to wait around and see if he would make it. Put the red dot on his neck and let the 935 bark and that was that. Not a super exciting hunt but still better than any day at work. Good bird with 10.5 in beard, 1 and 3/32 and 1 and 1/8 spurs.

This has been one of my best seasons ever. Youth weekend, I was in the blind with my son and watched him harvest a jake out of a group of three that I called in and we saw over 15 birds for the morning and heard no less than 10 gobblers that were close. Opening day, I harvested my bird at 1125 am after working several different birds earlier that morning. And finally, yesterday morning, 5/5, my daughter harvested her first bird, a Tom, that we called in for a picture perfect hunt of gobbling on the roost, flys down, comes to decoys on a string, and struts his way to the gun barrel. I am feeling very happy, very blessed, and very humble. Glad to be there with both my kids during this successful turkey season.

Well, to be eligible for this years trophy, I would have had to have your dues payment before the season started. We would still love for you to come out and join us and you could use this as an opportunity to pay your dues for next year as well. Invite a few friends you know of that hunt and come on out.

Anyone have any out of state hunts planned this year? I have a buddy who is working on getting us an out of state hunt for Georgia in the first few weeks of April. I am starting to get really pumped up for it, too.

Didn't get to bed as early as I had planned and so I grabbed an energy drink and a chew on the way to the woods this morning.. Now I feel like my heart is beating faster than any buck fever I've ever had. This should be interesting 😳
Good luck everyone

NICE JOB, TEAMMATE! This weather is kind of nasty, so I'm not too upset that I had to work. Hoping that I'll be out on Saturday morning. Good luck to all the rest of you guys. Stay safe and stay dry.

From what I've read the 935 doesn't do slugs. I have also heard a lot of good things about the 870, which is the only shotgun I have ever used for deer. I may have to look into a new 870 for my gobbler action. Never hunted with a 20. Always hunted with a 12. The mossberg 935 will shoot slugs. Mossberg makes a slug barrel specifically for this gun. store.mossberg.com/product/269/935-magnum-slug-barrel-adj-rifle-sights-24I have a 935, although I do not use it for deer and have never bought the slug barrel for it either. For turkey, though, I don't think I'll ever buy another gun. It's my favorite and I've used a Remington 1100 & 870, a Mossberg 9200 and my 935 and it's my favorite gun of them all for spring gobblers. That being said, the 935 shooting 3.5 inch shells pack quite a punch. You'll have that with about any 3.5 inch gun though.

I have had shots on 6 different bucks that I have passed on because they were too little or not what I wanted to shoot. There was one buck I had come in opening morning of shotgun that I definitely would have taken but I was trying to get my 11 year old son a shot and it didn't work out.

Just had a small 8 come through chasing a doe and grunting about every third or fourth step and about 5 mins behind came a small 6 pointer doing the same thing. Where are you hunting. I'm just south of New Buffalo MI. I hope it starts in a couple of days for firearms season.
I'm hunting East Central Indiana. Delaware county to be exact. I would think that with you being farther north, you would be slightly further along in the rut than I would be down here, but I am not positive on that. All I know is that it is definitely the time to be in the woods.
