Had two separate bucks running does last Friday evening....have not hunted since last Sunday morning.
Plan on going tomorrow and then being in the stand most days until gun season comes in. The calendar says its nearly time....its a little early yet but all it takes is one doe coming in to get the local mature deer up on their feet even if it's short lived. Another week and chances are pretty good every male deer will be up and looking.

Several scrapes around my place...one of the food plots I put in has 4 smaller trees I let stand and each has multiple scrapes under it. The trails I maintain are just littered with scrapes. Rubs are a little more scarce in those areas but then I don't venture into many areas mature deer bed in.

Deer movement should improve this week with the cooler temperatures.

I found 4 scrapes by my stand after taking a week off of hunting. I still have yet to find any rubs, but last night I saw 12 doe enter the food plot and a fork horn entered the field with his nose to the ground trying to push them a little bit. They ran in circles, but he eventually pushed the does out of the field and ate in the corner of the food plot. Another antler less deer was eating next to him. I assume it was a BB

I think it's definitely going to take off this week. I hunted yesterday morning and yesterday evening and saw several little bucks out cruising for does. Haven't had any shooters come by or on my trail cameras yet, but I think it'll start to pick up this week. Good luck and stay safe, everyone.

Hopefully lower temps this weekend should set things off.

Dead deer ALL over the interstate on I64 here in Southern Indiana this morning. Always a tell tell sign that they are chasing and running hard. Front moving in this way. Barometric pressure is dropping. Tonight and all day tomorrow should be really good times to hunt. Heading out to our 70 acres backed up to the Hoosier National in Paoli late tonight. Will hunt in the morning, then setup 2 treestands and some new cams. Plan to hunt the entire weekend as well. Taking off next Friday to hunt crossbow the bay before gun. I absolutely love it the week prior. Will report back on Monday. Good luck to all

Spotlighting last night we saw a couple 2.5 year olds fighting. Several younger bucks following single does around and one mature buck by himself. We also saw several other bucks in the middle of fields alone moving. You never know what is going to show up this time of year.
My buddy also shot a 180" buck yesterday evening following a doe.

I just saw the picture. Excellent buck .. But missed him at 10 yards (which is understandable on a buck of that magnitude)and then get another shot at him? The deer God was smiling on him!
