Thanks H.H. That doesn't seem like a bad run.I only have a 120 on my boat so it might be alittle longer for me.I think if the weather is good I will give it a try. Good luck on your trip!
Josh, I sent you an email. thanks Ray

I'm headed up to LSC in a week and was hoping to pick some brains(Hoosier Hunter,Whitetail1 or anyone else) for info.I'm launching and staying in selfridge. My questions are,how far is the run to the mile roads,is the fishing any good north of selfridge, and where is Ford cove?I see people talk about it on LSC forum, but don't see it on map.I've only fished up there once and only fished selfridge area so any advice on different areas would be great. Thanks

I hope you have good weather and good luck with the fish.I'm heading up to St.Clair on the 15th. Hoping for better weather and cleaner water this year.I can't wait to get after those big smallies! Are you planning a trip up there this spring?

I was shocked to see Congamond lakes on the list.It is a drop in a bucket compared to most of the other lakes.I used to live about 10 min. from it and fished it alot.It has some nice bass in it,but I don't know if I would call it world class.Maybe I might be wrong though,A friend of mine fished a tournament there last weekend and said you had to have 20 or more lbs. to even finish close to the money.I guess I'm not as good a fisherman as I thought!

It surprised me to see I had fished 10 lakes on the list. From Sebago in Maine to Conroe in Texas and a few in between. It is cool to think how different alot of those lakes are.I hope to scratch a few more off my list!

I like to fish rip rap more than weeds. The lakes I fished back home in New England were mostly clear and deep so it's what I'm used to,and as for the wind thats something I'm learning to live with all the time here in Indiana! I think I'll give it a try. Thanks again

Duff, thanks for the info.Summit lake is where I do most of my bass fishing.I can get alot of fish but most are pretty small. When you say different style of lake, what did you mean?

If the problem is an overpopulation of small fish you need to reduce the number of fish.If all your harvesting is mature fish, putting a 10" or bigger limit on the crappie will only leave you with alot more small fish.

They were also referenced in the safty info SAFTY: "at all firearms hunts a participant must cover outer garments with hunter orange"
I don't know if they use the same rules info for all state park hunts wether it be bow or gun hunts. I didn't remember any reference to firearms or orange last year. Thinking it was a bow hunt ,I was alittle confused when I read them.

I thought the same thing, but when I went to the rules page it talks about firearms safety and hunter orange. It says nothing about archery only.Last years rules said nothing about firearms.

I was picked for the late hunt at Fort Harrison. I was picked for last years hunt there and it was bow only hunt. After reading the hunt info on the DNR site,it seems like it is a gun hunt this year. It seems like a small area for a gun hunt.Did anyone else here get drawn for this hunt or have any info on it?

HH,just saw your pics on the other post. You guys got some nice ones! Sounds like you had to go alot farther off shore than I did. Most of my fish were caught 2 to 300 yrds from the bank.I got some as close as 20 ft. from shore.

HH, sounds like you did alot better than I did! Did you get any big fish? It's good to hear the water cleared up. I just got back from NewHampshire fishing with my father and bros.We had a good 5 days,no big fish but good numbers. The weather was too good! High pressure made the fishing alittle harder. Can't remember the last time we didn't get rained on or blown off the lake on our trip. Good luck Gobblerstopper. Hope you get into the smallies, there are some big ones in that lake!

It won't be long before you will be hearing "remember the good ol' days when...." I'm as guilty as the next guy, hard to stay away from fishing that good! Even with C&R taking the fish off there beds nonstop lets the bluegills, perch ect. eat the eggs up.I hope the lake is big enough to handle it,but I doubt it.

When the fog lifted and I could see more than 50ft. I counted 51 boats at around 10:00 am friday.I left to come home around 11:30 and there were more coming in every minute.I guess I picked a good time to leave.Sounds like you made the right choice to postpone your trip.I hope the weather and water quality are better for your trip.I wonder how long the bass population can last under all that pressure? My guess is you wiil start to see size and numbers decline if something is not done to protect the spawning bass. When I first started fishing "winnie" in New hampshire 15 yrs. ago 100 fish days were common. Now with so much pressure on the bass it's nothing like it used to be.Once the word got out how good the fishing was it was the begining of the end. I see the same thing happening to St.Clair.

I only fished the Selfridge area.I didn't want to make any long runs because of the weather.Talking to other guys, they were not doing any better at the mile roads.I caught all of my fish on a green and orange tube or a Gulp goby on a dropshot rig.Tried the xr50's but only caught small pike and muskies with them.I was amazed at the size of the fish I was getting!Big numbers are fun but the big fish made up for low numbers.I also hope HH is up there doing better than I did!I feel bad I messed up and couldn't give him some info after he helped me out.
