Woody, please correct me if I am wrong. I think his question was asking: If he kills 1 buck and 1 doe in archery season can he use his 2nd doe tag during the firearms season. As I understand it that 2nd doe tag would be considered a bonus tag for firearms. Again, please correct me if this is wrong.I don't want to be breaking the law. Thanks

I never have been really afraid of coming or going in the dark, but growing up in the northeast the thought of walking up on a bear was always on my mind. I do remember climbing up into my stand in a big oak in the dark and finding it full of roosted turkeys.I think I soiled my camo when they started busting out of the tree!

Thank you for clearing that up!All I want to do is hunt deer and be legal doing it.After reading this thread my head is spinning! lol I won't use more than 3 deer a year so the bundle is great for me.I was thinking that if I took my buck with a bow I would have to sit out the whole firearms season.I'm happy that is not the case. Thanks again

So i bought the bundle. If i am reading this right,I can only shoot a buck during firearms season unless I buy a bonus doe tag.I can't use 1 of my doe tags from the bundle. When I bought this I thought it said tags were good for all seasons and weapons.Having lived and hunted in 3 states,Indiana has by far the most confusing deer regs I have ever seen!

Picked up a Tenpoint Turbo XLT about a month ago.I got a good deal on a last years model. It's a great little hunting bow, only 17" axle to axle and 13" when cocked.I'm trying to find the right breadhead to shoot out of it.My thunderheads that I shoot from my vert bow just do not shoot very well from this xbow. I can't wait to get it out in the woods!

Thanks KL,I will take you up on that offer next time I'm down there.I did make a run through the canal into Barkley to have a look around. It seemed like it was nothing but mud at the top of the lake but I didn't make a long run to explore. It was at the end of the week and I didn't want to have to put more gas in the boat.I like to lighten the load to trailer home. Are all the stumps you talk about at the southern end of the lake?

The wife and I had a great time on our trip tp KL. I was very impressed with the lake.It took me a little while to figure out how and where to fish, but once I did I caught bass. I didn't get any real big fish but did get a few 4's. most were taken on senkos fished on a CR rig (thanks for the tip HH) or drop shot. The only bad part was the weather. It was in the high 90's to low 100's everyday. Hot! I was pleasently surprised at the lack of boat traffic for most of the week and even with a tourny going on Sat. it wasn't that bad.I think we will be making more trips to this great lake. Thanks to everyone for the helpful tips!

well my electronics are not much younger than my boat!lol I'm going to spend some time online looking at KL maps in the next few days. It will make it easier now that I know what to look for.I will pinpoint a few areas and fish them hard(and slow).I have a hand held gps I use to mark my stand locations,I will bring it along and mark areas that are holding fish. Thanks for the info!

Thanks K.L, we rented a place with a slip so I wouldn't have to keep loading the boat every day.My wife likes to sleep in and I'm an early riser,so I like to get up and fish for a few hours before she joins me.I will give Barkley a try at some point during the week.Have you fished KL around this area?Any tips on where to start to locate bass? thanks

Happy to see you still got some nice fish even if mother nature was against you! The weather was the same on my trip up there, started off warm then did a 180. I just got back from my annual trip to New Hampshire and the weather wasn't any better there. The first day was nice and we caught alot of fish, then the temp dropped and it rained for 3 days aimost non stop!Still I had a good time with my father and my brothers.

I have yet to get into the big numbers of fish people talk about but the size of the smallies I have caught more than make up for it!I think I only caight 2 fish smaller than 2lbs. and the rock bass keep you busy in between big smallies.I did lose alot of tackle to pike and muskies, they love gobies on a dropshot as much as the smallmouths did.I'm hooked on st.Clair and have all you guy's to blame!

I just got back from 2 1/2 days of fishing St.Clair. I did beter than last year for numbers and size. Tuesday was nice but windy and I got 25 fish, all very big! Weds. was cold with a strong north wind but the fishing was still good.If I remember right I got 37 fish and my p.b. smallie a fish I know was a 6 lber.An hour before dark the the wind really picked up and switched to out of the east and made the fishing tuff!I went out for 5 hrs. this morning and caught 6 fish, the water was trashed from east wind. most fish were taken with dropshot with plastic goby or crankbaits.I would have loved to throw topwater but the water was just to rough.Sorry no picks, I was alone and just couldn't get camara to balance in the big waves.
