Have any of you ever fished this res for bass?I read an article on the pan fishing but do not know how it is for bass.Just want to know if it is worth the hour drive to fish. Thanks for any info.

It has bass in it. I used to fish it a lot in the late 90's while going to school there at BSU. Depends on what other lakes are within an hour drive of you. It always treated me OK, has crappie, walleye, catfish, white bass, gills as well. Summit Lake is pretty close to Prairie Creek too. Different style of lake but 50-50 when it would come to where I'd go. There is also an other lake in Henry County, name is slipping me right now but it was good for gills and catfish but close to 20 years ago the bass were mainly dinks.

I believe Westwood is the other lake in Henry county.

Size and water quality I guess. Summit always had heavy weeds and PCR was deeper, fewer weeds and seemed to have more rip rap. But you could get back in the cause ways and get into shallow water. The lake was also a rough lake the way the is sat the waves seemed to build a lot easier. Finally the fish mgmt is owned by the City of Muncie so you get a few odd ball stockings in the lake that the IDNR wouldn't typically do.
Westwood is the one.

I like to fish rip rap more than weeds. The lakes I fished back home in New England were mostly clear and deep so it's what I'm used to,and as for the wind thats something I'm learning to live with all the time here in Indiana! I think I'll give it a try. Thanks again

Good luck, I kind of enjoyed the lake myself but mainly due to limited options. Remember my experience was over a decade ago so some things could have probably changed, including my memory!

Summit Lake is great for yellow perch. I have fished Westwood quite a bit too. Good pan fishing.
