I purchased my deer license bundle and just for kicks went back in to the system to look at antlerless tags should I find that I need more. Apparently, the bundle does not count as a your first antlerless tag. So my 4th deer would cost $25. My fifth, then, would be at the discounted rate of $15.
So, let's say I take 5 deer all with archery equipment...
Bundle price $65 + $24 1st Bonus Antlerless + $15 2nd Bonus Antlerless = $104.
Same 5 deer with Archery License $24, 1st Bonus Antlerless $24, 2nd, 3rd & 4th Bonus Antlerless $45 = $93
I would have thought if I bought the bundle, that would satisfy the 1st Bonus Antlerless requirement, but apparently, that is not the case.
I believe the license bundle was designed with the multiple season / equipment hunter in mind and it has the potential to save you some money by not having to waste a license, but buyer beware. Make sure it is the right thing for you. It might not be the best bang for your buck depending on your situation.
Cheers!

youre right, it was designed for the multiple weapon hunter. add a gun or muzzy tag to the equation....or both
archery tag ..24 gun tag..24 muzzy tag..24 doe tag ..24 extra doe tag..15
total...111

add in the option of a crossbow for another 24 and that 111 becomes 135

Why is there an extra crossbow fee if you have an archery tag?

Another $24 for the state! That and they are they root of all evil. Lol.... Yes, it is an EVIL tax... I doubt it will make the DNR much money but it was more of an appeasement to the anti- crossbowers than a money maker. It gives certain bowhunters an feeling of superiority. The only hunters hit by a double fee for archery will be the bowhunter that uses both a vertical bow and a crossbow. for the gun hunters and others that want to try crossbowing only will be Paying $24 just like the vertical bow benders. Btw- you do not need a crossbow license if you have a bundle license or an UDZ license..

All kidding aside I know of a few guys that have their guts all knotted up over the inclusion of the crossbow this season...... BTW, I picked up the 2012-13 Hunting guide and noticed quite a few crossbow ads inside and a full page one on the back cover. I'll bet that made a few of the antis reach for their maalox....

The bundle makes it nice for me personally, archery, crossbow, and gun seasons....gives me freedom depending on the season to use my weapon of choice that day, and saves a little money.

What about the hunter that has the lifetime handicap permit to use a crossbow.... Are they now required to also buy the crossbow license to hunt during the Early Archery or Late Archery seasons? So far it is REALLY confusing..

Yep...unless you buy the "bundle" or have a lifetime license or an UDZ license then you will not need to buy a crossbow license. Bud, Keep your permit cause IF the September "vertical bow only season" goes thorugh for next year your permit will allow you to hunt that time period.

I am a huge fan of this new bundle package. I am from IL and hunt on my In Laws ground in Ohio County and that extra Doe tag is really nice. Saves me a bunch of money as an out of state hunter.

Talked to the local CO and he said you can buy another bundle if you would like to take three more antlerless deer.

So i purchased my bundle, I would like to hunt all seasons with respective weapons (bow, shotgun and MZ). I thought i understood but having gone over the rules again, i'm not clear on what is allowed. For example: I can take 1 buck and 1 doe OR, take 2 does with my bow during Archery season, correct? And if i did NO MORE archery hunting, and were to NOT buy anythign else i.e. bonus antlerless tag, i'd have to wait till MZ season to fill that last doe tag which comes with the bundle package, correct? Meaning for Firearm season I'd be SOL because i can't use that last doe tag during Firearm season... (only bonus antlerless tags are applicable then).

Woody, please correct me if I am wrong. I think his question was asking: If he kills 1 buck and 1 doe in archery season can he use his 2nd doe tag during the firearms season. As I understand it that 2nd doe tag would be considered a bonus tag for firearms. Again, please correct me if this is wrong.I don't want to be breaking the law. Thanks
