Left Wednesday morning 5/30 and was was supposed to came back this evening 6/3. However mother nature had other plans any only got to fish Wednesday afternoon and Thursday. Friday morning it was pouring rain and lightning with 30MPH east winds. They were calling for 5 to 7 foot waves. Saturday it was supposed to continue to rain most of the day and still a bad wind forecast. This is not a lake you want to be on with east winds.
I guess the trip was doomed from the beginning. I caught this one on the first cast of the trip.
Weather was nice that Wednesday afternoon. Temp was 72 and light winds from the north.
My son answered back with a 4.37 pounder and ended being the biggest of the trip.
Even caught several largemouth as well.
Woke up Thursday morning and headed to the truck and WOW. Temperature was 48 and wind chill was in the 30s. Dang what a change from the day before. Wind wasn't too bad but was going to change as it was expected to blow out of the NE at 20-25.
Definitely had to dress for the weather. Fish were still biting tho.
Sun finally came out and the wind picked up. Wind sock was a must.
Took a long run and headed to mouth of the Detroit river. About every 30 minutes and freighter would pass by.
Managed one walleye and I let go back to swim another day.
Fish bit pretty well down in that area.
Face masks made running in the cold a lot better.
On the run back from the Detroit river made a stop at Miller Food and fuel to have a sandwich and a pop. That boat getting filled up was spending the money on gas. He had just filled his first tank at $257 and then were filling the 2nd one. LOL
It was a short trip but was still fun and cuaght some good'uns too. The mayfly hatch was just starting. I'd like to head back to LSC this October.
Until then....tight lines ;D
