weedhopper What kind of a white do you have? I bought a whitelightning at an auction last year. I was amazed when the first two shots made an oval.

I haven't been on this thread very long and don't know if this subject has ever been discussed, but many counties in the southern part of the state have an eight for bonus antlerless deer. This is to reduce the number of deer in the herd from what I understand. Why do we not have an early spring season before the fawns are born? Kill upto 2 deer whatever sex walks in front of you.

Im not pushing for hpr's i just was trying to find out why people are dead set against them. I live in IN, but work in KY and can't see the topography argument. Most deer hunters are in an elevated position and even on flat ground I don't think that bullet will curve upward and go anywhere else. Hey tenring don't you think that knowledge and ability ought to be mastered before using any weapon for any purpose? I don't know what SWAG is, could you spell it out for me?

what is the deal with everyone being afraid of rifles in indiana for deer? I don't get it. What is the reason people don't want them in indiana?

I was just reading this interesting chat. I think M4 is dead on. The loop hole exists, and the state will welcome anyone's $200 that wants to send it in. The hunter is not the problem in my opinion the guy that bought the uzi with a less than 16" barrel is who they want all the info on. I figured that the new allowance of handgun caliber rifles is just the first step to being able to allow high powered rifles in the future. That's why I am not running out to get one. I have another question, how is it that it is not safe to shoot a hpr at a deer(normally from an elevated position), but it is safe to shoot up into a tree at a squirrel with a .22? Won't a .22 kill a person just as dead as a .300 win mag?

It was a bad deal for the state, but just how much did the state pay for them deer and turkeys that we are killing. Its always been funny to me how the animals are the states until one jumps in front of your car. then its all yours.

I got mine when they were $856 about 5 years ago. I told my wife that it would pay for itself in about 10 years. That was before the prices went up, now I figure about 7 so I'm getting ready to start hunting for free. I got comp hunting only.

I haven't done a park hunt, because my partner(son) hasn't been old enough. This year that all changes. I live right next to clifty falls and will put in for it and charleston this year.
We have hunted big oaks for the last 4 years and taken deer in 3 out of 4. This year was bad all over from what i'm reading. When I checked out at bo there were only about 40 deer checked in, but that was with only about 400 hunters.

The first deer I killed was about 15ft from me. I was sitting against a tree and had looked left as I turned my head back to the right a doe ran past at about the same distance. She went another 25 yards, stopped and looked back. Thinking that there must be something following her I turned and waited and here came a bb and he stopped and I popped.
