The man that owns the land that I hunt on told me at church tonight that his son saw 2 black bears on their land. I am not here to say whether it is true or not, but IF I am in the woods this fall and a bear happens to be there also, what are my options? Can I kill the bear since we don't have a season for them? Are they protected under some odd you can't kill anything that is not in season law?

hey firelt72,
I am a public safety person and think that we public servants should hook up and try to give those Warrick boys a run for their money.
Gotcha in with firelt72...
Let me know when you get some more emergency guys..
Good Luck...

You sound like my son. He really gets off on tracking. I as your friend am color blind and can't see blood unless it's a big pile in a bed. His first buck he shot low through the brisket (not much blood) and he tracked that deer for 1/2 mile.
Cool story thanks for posting it.

911,
The easy way out for me would be just to go home and process the deer myself. I only live about 2 minutes from where I hunt. I have to drive the six miles to town to check one, then 6 back to hang it. If I wanted the easy way I'd just take care of it. Noone would know any different except me and my kids that I am trying to teach the value of the law. I don't mind the way it is, but shut up and quit whining and just hunt is pretty harsh for someone that is not against it.

Why not change the system? The change to tele-check would give me the opportunity to hunt until dark during the early part of the season, without the possibility of a spoiled and wasted deer. As of right now, where I hunt I would have to walk out of the woods at least an hour before dark.

Woody,
Trophyhunter's 12 point buck on team 6 should score 17 not 15.

I can't stay home. Even though I'm a doe hunter for the rest of the season. It still tastes so darn good.

good to hear Dave just think how many points you could have gotten for your team if you would have shot 4 in Big Oaks.

Hey, I have to ask, how many other people were leaning over trying to see under that limb? I know that I tried to look under it, but it didn't work. LOL

don't forget to bring a chair or something else to get you up off of the ground. The weeds were pretty tall in the area that I hunted.

The doe I shot on Monday in Big Oaks was being chased by a small 6 pointer.
