woody, does it have to be a trail camera? I don't own one yet, but am going to try to get in my deer hut and get some pictures of the bucks behind my dad's house.

I'm aiming for the end of August. School starts and I won't be covering overtime at work.

I believe that the overall kill will be about the same, but there will be less people in the woods. I live within 10 minutes of everywhere I hunt including Big Oaks. I am going to try to kill at least three more than I have been.

I just saw 4 birds, two were big toms strutting for the others. It was 2:45 at the edge of a field.

I would have to pass on the canned kill of #1
Now #2 sounds like something I might consider. I do hunt in Big Oaks and have killed deer there. I wouldn't mind if the guys that don't want to hunt inside a fence just not come down to Big Oaks. Hey don't let me discourage you from putting in for it though that will make it so that I have a better chance getting drawn for the second chance hunts for people who don't show up. lol

Glad to hear that Raymond finally got his bird. Thanks for sharing the hunts with us and for caring enough to help out a fellow hunter. Congrats to the three of you.

woody, Thanks for running the contest and thanks to all who donated prizes. I got my pocket quiver in the mail yesterday. Is there any kind of deer contest?

I'm glad to see that someone else has seen such. I was just about to ask if it was to early for such growth. I saw one on my way home from work that looked like it had about 4".

This is a picture of the first tom that i've killed. I killed a jake last year, but was trying to get a tom this year. I had 2 jakes come in then 2 toms with 2 hens. They all stayed out at about 60 yards and I just wasn't comfortable shooting that far. So I moved twice more in the same field kept calling about every 15 minutes or so until he showed. I didn't have any decoys out so he was weary, but finally took those last four fatal steps to get around the tree in front of me and to 35 yards.
