Fished with my son and 2 of the grand kids aboard the Polecat out of Ludington ,Michigan on Thursday and Friday.
Lake Michigan water levels are way above record highs and the winds have been changing so often it had the KINGS pushed out of the area however the Lake Trout were a great substitute.
Caught a total of 16 with the largest being about 11 pounds.
The weather was perfect and the waves were manageable.

We brought home approx. 35 pounds of filleted fish Lake Trout. Schall53 and I are hoping to do a charter there during the second week of September we might have an opening if interested let one of us know. The owner of the Polecat is also the owner of Yeck Lure Company they manufacture a lot of the equipment used by Great Lakes fisherman and his spoons are one of the hottest lures on Lake Erie.

Awesome. I like eating Lakers but in college a coworker from MI called them greasers and wouldn't eat them.
My 1st experience of the typical MI snob!

Awesome. I like eating Lakers but in college a coworker from MI called them greasers and wouldn't eat them. My 1st experience of the typical MI snob! I’m a snob myself I use to give them away when I had my big boat loved catching them but never cared for the taste I’d steak a few and smoke them but that’s the only way I’ll eat any trout or salmon

He would keep other trout and salmon but not Lakers. Trout and salmon are not my fav but I cant tell difference between steelhead, Lakers, cohoes or chinook. It is good from time to time Now walleye or perch....duh
