I see the THP crew found some quick success in Indiana! Good for them! They hit it hard and deserve what they harvest.
That being said, I kinda wish Indiana would give Hoosier hunters a solid week to hunt first before letting nonresidents hunt. I get it, big money draw but, just a thought I had. I hunt private ground far away from any public so, it really doesn't effect me any. And I get the fact that some people (actually two wood lots from me) lease ground that live out of State. Nonresidents but, leasing private ground so, I don't necessarily think they should have to wait. A lot of variables to consider I suppose. Idk, just something I think about when bouncing along on my lawn mower.
Just to be clear, I have no issues with non resident hunters or the THP crew. I've been watching them since their humble beginnings and appreciate the work and effort they put into hunting and producing the videos.

duff will you please take me fishing?! If you're that good at hunting turkeys, when you don't even like it, you have to be an absolute GOAT at crappie fishing! My freezer needs some filling!

Hunted Big Oaks today and found several Lone Star ticks crawling on our pant legs but all finally got wobbly and fell to the ground after being exposed to the Permethrin. It definitely works. Watching that sure makes you a believer and helps you feel more comfortable out there.

Just put an eye dropper in and shake it. If it turns the water white after shaken, it is enough. If you question it, put in another eye dropper. You aren't wearing these cloths while they are soaking wet are you? Letting it DRY first? So the water is literally GONE. If it is white when you spray it on, they there is protection where you spray it. Permethrin is BOTH an insecticide AND a repellant. Spray a spider and if he doesn't care, then you need more in what ever size water you are using. When you are happy, write it on the bottle. No math required. Beware that if your clothes get wet when wearing it may burn depending on the mix… I never apply it to my facemask or gloves. I don't want it getting in my eyes or mouth. Especially if I'm handling mouth calls or the facemask gets wet.

Okay, I think I have it narrowed down to an issue with the gas piston.
Although my account hasn't yet been approved on Ol Gobbler, reading the forums I think I have an idea.
I'm simply ordering a new piston and hoping that it resolves my problem.

I would ask on Old Gobbler under the Mossberg forum I'll check that out. Thank you for the suggestion!

I have always been a Mossberg fan. I have owned, and still own, several. This is the first one that has given me any issues. It's also the first autoloader I've owned. I now have a bad taste in my mouth for both. Had Mossberg's customer service been a little more friendly, I might not be as upset at the brand. In all reality, I have had several issues with this gun and they have been of no help to me. From a busted forearm retainer, broken mag plug to the not cycling at all issue. I hope the gunsmith can fix this gun so I can sell/trade it with a good conscious. It will no longer have a home here. Yeah no place in your life for a gun you can't trust. It will always be in your mind. Really no need for a dedicated turkey gun to be an auto. Lots of turkeys killed with single shots, and probably more with pumps. Maybe you said you used it for geese too? That's different. If you really like that gun, maybe look for another? Maybe you got a lemon. I'd read a forum or two for reviews and troubleshooting. I learn a lot from everyday Joe type reviews on alot of stuff. I hadn't used it for geese yet. I did recently buy the 28" waterfowl barrel for it along with 3 new Carlson Choke tubes. Ugh!

I shot my turkey yesterday morning and, wouldn't ya know it, it did not cycle another round. Mossberg has me taking it to a gun smith next week. The gun smith will do the inspection on it and contact Mossberg in reference to the repairs or if it'll need sent to them for repairs.
Thankfully, I dropped my bird with the first shot.

My buddy was finally able to connect on a gobbler yesterday. The majority of the day was birdless but, finally around 3pm we were hearing lots of gobbling and we had several encounters. When we were giving up and heading out, he spotted a red head in a tall wheat field. Then another one. These two toms were bedded in the field. Just popping their heads up occasionally. They were in the middle of the field and a good 150 yards from us. He decided he wanted to try and stalk them, which he did successfully. He got within 20 yards, stood up and the toms got up and bolted. Only one made it to safety. Fun to watch! Wow....thats impressive. Gotta be part injun! I wish I could attach the video! It was pretty cool to see!
