I'd say try it and see how it functions. If it fails again, it's time to find it a new home. I think that's the route I'm headed for. 🤞

I plan on doing just that. I'll be using the #3's for ducks, the BB's for geese. I have duck targets ready to go. I will take a pallet and put masking paper across it and the duck target in the center so I can see how the whole pattern looks. I'll try all of my choke tubes at their recommended ranges as well. I think/hope I'll have a good understanding of the patterns and chokes when I'm done as well as my set-ups limitations. What would be interesting to see is how the 2 sizes of shot pattern in the same choke tube at the same distance. You might find that different sized shot needs a different choke tube to perform best. I bought a three pack of the Carlson Deltas that cover close range, mid range and long range. I'll be testing them all! That in itself will be a good time!

That's definitely a nice looking rifle! Hopefully she performs just as nice.

I cannot wait to get my first limit! But, right now, I'm more focused and excited about getting my first wood duck and drake mallard! 1st ones are hard. After that, so long you are in a decent area...easy. Back in the day I always wanted a drake wigeon, we had a group suck right into the decoys. 3 of up pulled up and birds just folded. All were fully feathered widgeons. Of course when I pulled up the shoulder strap got hung and I wasn't shooting. That 1 burned for a while. Oh, I bet that was tough to get over!

Well, I guess the skunk was a good omen yesterday afterall. I Had a tom strutting around 2 hens on the edge of the beanfield and the mowed hayfield i was set up in. I was able to get out of my blind and bellycrawl to the edge where he was strutting. 19.751lbs with a 10.5 inch beard. Id rather be lucky than good. That's awesome! Congratulations!

Well, I got the new piston and it's installed.
I took 3 different brands, weights, size and lengths out back. I fired 3 rounds of each. The gun functioned perfectly. Cycled fast, no feed issues and ejected the rounds without hesitation.
Now, do I really want to part ways with it or, consider the gun fixed with the new piston. Still not sure what exactly was wrong with the other piston but, I had no problems this morning with the new one installed.

I still can't believe he went on those podcasts bringing more attention to himself. What an idiot. He must have really wanted the attention. I'm kind of glad he did that. Now even more people know he's a poaching fraud.

I placed an order for a case of 250 3" 1-1/4oz. #3 and a case of 250 3" 1-1/4oz BB. Roger's Sporting Goods had them on sale for $179.00 plus I used my reward points for an additional $50 off. The order came with free shipping as well. I think I made out pretty good. I have watched a plethora or reviews on the Federals and they seem to perform really well. I used them this past goose season and liked the results as well. Shoot them at a pattern board at the distance you will be swatting the geese for a visual of what the pattern looks like. Everybody does it for turkeys, why not other birds? I plan on doing just that. I'll be using the #3's for ducks, the BB's for geese. I have duck targets ready to go. Although the article doesn't highlight the incident of "Jacklighting " it does state that there were charges of "Jacklighting".
Shameful that this all had to go down like this. Kudos to the Ohio DNR for taking their time and doing a thorough investigation into this event.

I got up on a high point I like to go to and listen for birds, where they sometimes roost. No birds in the immediate area, but I did hear this guy way off on another spot I tried to get one yesterday. I couldn’t pull him off private the day before. After I made my way I realized he was in public so, I took the opposite down slope side of where he was and cut in front of him to where I figured he would be using the hillside to make his way to the private field. Gave a few tree yelps and flapped my hat, made some scratches and a few minutes later watched a bird fly down. Shortly after that a bird came right up on me, I sat and watched him realizing he didn’t have a beard at all. The bird I heard was definitely a full grown gobbler, not a Jake. This Jake walked about 5 feet from me then spooked. I thought to myself what the heck that stinks, his putting will scare everything off. A couple minutes later I looked up and a tom was strutting 20 yards in front of me. I let him pass by a tree and positioned myself. Might be the biggest bird to date. Huge, heavy body and long spurs What a awesome bird and cool pic in those pines!

The scope? You keep this up and you will have to buy a good spotting scope!! This is another "thing" that requires a 3 day wait here in CO Oh geez! Sounds exciting! And regardless of what's in the mystery box, scope, modified BANG BANG or parts to make a BANG BANG go pew pew, I hope you enjoy it thoroughly!
