Come on now...you know you have been in the helicopter many a time lol! Well seeings how either he's asleep in the double stand or steals my spot from me and claims as his, no helicopter here. Usually I'm trying to convince him to throw in the towel and go run dogs. He's not much a hunter anyway. Your son enjoy running the dogs? I burnt my son out on the hounds before he was 5, drug that pore little $hit around in freezing snow about 30 to many times.

My 1st time I was 12, sitting in a oak tree in a home made stand wedged in the fork of a tree, shot my best buck ever with a 20ga smooth bore Ithaca...LOL Awwwwww the good old days, even road in the open bed of a pickup without falling out. Not saying those were safe practices but they were for sure fond memories.

We drain all fuel, shut fuel valve off and run until they die. Remove lower unit plugs, dump rv antifreeze in live wells and bilge pumps. Mine set out all winter tarped. This year a guy 15 miles away started shrink wrapping, may try it out after next week, fishing has been on fire the last couple weeks .

To many times to count!!! If you do a lot of ice fishing, your going to get hooked!! I used the fishing line wrap and jerk last winter and it worked great!!

To close to camera and picture came out to blurry. I think it's a buck but antlers look goofy. Unless they are distorted to much in pic.

Nice bear showed up last night. Ive lost count of how many are hitting the bait. Last night I watched 3 different one's from the house. So far they haven't bothered anything around the house. I think the kennel dogs keep them away. Just have a couple barrels of food left, they are eating two full buckets a day.

My neighbor owns a spray foam business and my nephew works for him. I was thinking a light coating inside would help with noise, rubber stall mat on the floor.

Does not really have anything to do with being bear proof, just looks like a cheap way of making a waterproof hunting blind. You can usually find water totes anywhere from free to $80 each.

Anyone made one of these? Can buy the totes fairly cheap. Im worried they wouldnt be big enough for me, also concerned with noise issues.

Bear number 3 made his appearance this evening. Was watching the other two out the window, seen them both stand up and wind something then bolt off. Figured there was a bigger one around.

Yes, I have a first aid kit made for dogs that I keep in the truck. With this dry summer we got into more ground hornets than in the last 8-10 years combined. Ditto on the first aid kit. I'd carry it anytime I was training or hunting. What do you do for the dogs when they run into the hornets? Benadryl

Budd, do you carry a tube of Nutri-Cal or Nutri-Stat with you as well? We did whenever we were training or Field Trialing the Springer Spaniels. One of the cheapest tie out stakes that will hold a big hound is a chain connected to a 4" ring around an old straight axle driven into the ground. Used to be able to get those axles free at any mechanic's shop. I knew a bulldog breeder with close to 80 dogs on his yard, exactly what he used.

Being someone that now trains retrievers for a living, I always keep a gallon of alcohol in the truck in case a dog starts to heat stroke. Pour it on their chest area. I always try to get my land work done early while it's cool out, switch to water during the heat of the day. Surface water can get VERY warm and can overheat a dog as well.
