What you are about to read was sent to Indiana Hunters!! What is downright DISGUSTING with this company that is doing this is that they are trying to "spin" this House Bill 1585 as only a "Crossbow Bill"............nothing else is being discussed in this letter about how our IDNR will lose control of game management in this state, season lengthened and doe permits out the roof!!! Here is the exact copy as it was sent .............. TenPoint Crossbows Indiana Hunting NEWS Indiana Legislative Bill Concerning Crossbows Dear INDIANA HUNTER, House Bill 1585, that will allow the use of crossbows in the Indiana firearms season, has passed the House by an overwhelming margin of 79-13 and is now in the Senate where it will be assigned to committee. The Senate co-sponsors of this bill are Senators Brent Steele, Johnny Nugent, Jim Lewis and Richard Young. HB 1585 Contact them at the following: Jim Lewis - www.in.gov/s45/Brent Steele - www.in.gov/s44/Johnny Nugent - www.in.gov/s43/Richard Young - www.in.gov/s47/Your senator's email address can be located at: www.in.gov/apps/sos/legislator/search/Please contact these Senators and YOUR Senator. Ask them to support this bill and to reinstate the House Amendment 1 concerning the use of crossbows for all Indiana hunters over the age of 55. You may also want to ask them for an amendment to allow the crossbow to be used by anyone during the early archery season. Explain what a great benefit this has been to other states in the terms of recruiting more hunters, retaining older hunters, and deer management. Thank you. time for a mass emailing to TenPoint! This just showed up in my mail box from TenPoint. HB 1585 Endorsement Retraction TenPoint Crossbows Indiana Hunting NEWS TenPoint recently sent out an email endorsing HB 1585. We wish to retract that endorsement. It has come to our attention that game management changes should be a function of the Natural Resources Committee and the Indiana Department of Natural Resources and not a legislative function as it is in so many other states. TenPoint does not wish for the IDNR to be over ruled by the insurance companies or legislators. Biology is the way hunting seasons are and should be set. While TenPoint is for the expansion of crossbows, we would not wish for that expansion to come at the expense of the IDNR losing its authority on setting seasons and bag limits. We apologize for any confusion and again retract our endorsement of HB 1585. Randy Wood, Sales Manager

As an advocate for hunting opportunity and crossbows I know a LOT of states have the legislatures setting game laws. Not so in Indiana. At least it is not supposed to be.
Kudos to TenPoint for correcting their oversight.

Biologists not some insurance company whose lobbyist's are wooing those uneducated politicians.
Crossbows would have been okay though.

Still has to have a hearing before it goes to the senate floor for a vote. Our goal is to have this not receive a hearing. And it will be a dead issue
