Just curious how much land everyone has to hunt and how they got it, family, asked permission, lease, public, etc.
How far away do you live from your hunting place?

75 acres that my Dad bought in the 70's. I bought a portion of it off of him to build a house on.

80 acres. Bought it (Still paying for it). Further away than I'd like with about a 2.5 hour drive, but was able to get about double the land I would have been able to afford by going further away.

101 acres that's my brother and 3 acres of mine with 2 acres to my left and 5 acres on right with permission. Plus two 5 acre lots across the private drive, but there is a 5 acre lot in-between. That's the one that allows no one to place one food on his property.

My real estate agent. 80 acres,20 woods. I had purchased 35 acres thru her just for hunting, then we.took a 15% pay cut to keep our jobs and I was just barely marking ends meet so I put it up for sale thru her. She knew why I bought and why I was selling and when we walked out of the closing she ask me if i had found a place.to hunt and I told her no. She ask me if i wanted to hunt her place. I said YES. Been hunting it about 7 years now. Only one with permission.

My parents 9 acres, plus a neighboring 5, 17 and another neighbor's 4. (the 17 we lose in gun season).
A 30 ish acres along a riverbottom we only have for bow season, friend of the family we got from asking for bow only.
70 acre farm (25 ish wooded) we've hunted for a while, the wife of the farmer worked for my dad. We do anything and everything he needs to continue access.
My personal just shy of 23 acres I purchased last year. Some year I hope to expand it with neighboring acreage as small as the 2 acre to north or the 30 to East if God willing.
Also just picked up about 300 acres private in Wisconsin tonight...cannot believe it and yes I am still pinching myself.

About 210 acres. I bought 190 of it in 2009 and another 20 last year.
I got lucky and was able to pay the 190 off early but had prepared to sacrifice things for myself until I did if need be.
The 20 was paid for at purchase.

I hunt roughly 2,000 acres with more to come guess you could say it's a timeshare of sorts but all I do is buy a license and I assume a portion of it goes towards the purchase

Currently have about 3300 acres I hunt, 200 (closest) that I spend the majority of my time on. There is close to another thousand spread across 3 other counties that get used very little. At the height of my waterfowl days I had over 12,000 acres of private land plus all the public places we used. All private ground by permission.
I've taught Hunter Ed for 15 years and I can't believe the amount of locations I have been asked to hunt.

That man could get permission from everyone. I'd wager if he went to the head of p.e.t.a and asked permission, he'd walk away with it.

30 acres it's the in laws. If it wasn't for that it would probably be public land. It's in noble country in a high pressured area. I share it with 4 others.

I only hunt about an acre at a time. It might be 10 miles from home or shooting out the front or back door.

3 different areas. Main property is 3 farms connected totaling 514 acres 3 miles from home. Second property is 20 acres 2 miles from home. And the newest farm I got this year is 48 acres 11 miles from home. All property came from knocking on doors, asking permission and helping on the property. One of the properties came by way of sending the Michigan landowner a hand written letter. That property hadn't been hunted in 18 years. He said he appreciated the old fashion touch of a hand written, respectful letter.

7.75 acres my parents own, 20 acres my brothers in-laws own and possibly the other 60+ acres of their family property that all connects. Then just this past weekend Igot invited to hunt my wife's aunts parents place that's 20 or 30 acres right in the middle of deer mecca. Apparently her dad just shoots them and rolls them over the hill. I'm going to use this spot for my daughter.
