in illinois i go to or i should say i went to big neck outfitters for the last couple of years. the reason i am not going there anymore is because i have gotten permission on couple thousand acres of private ground not to far from them. they are great people, laid back and reall easy going. really reasonble prices also and they have got some big deer. they have all the info and pics on there website at bigneckoutfitters.com. last time i check there website they only had about 2/3 of the deer on there that where taken last season. and if you take a doe over there they put you in a drawing for a free hunt for the next year and they also have a squirrel contest and a coyote contest

The only tag I didn't fill was last years bow tag. I missed 160" eight pointer that was killed by a gun hunter. My buddy has killed 152" ten pointer, 186" twelve pointer, 130" nine pointer, & 124" 7 seven pointer. We've never leased ground there...the last 2 years we've just gotten permission to hunt on farmers property. The 1st year we worked for an outfitter. (I'll never do that again)
Needless to say.....I'll buy tags every year![/quote]
and a few of my buddies give me and a couple others heck for spending that much money to go out of state and hunt. they know there are big bucks over there but i think that they think it is just like here, but i think there are ton more of them over there. i see more big bucks over there in one week than i will a whole entire season here. that is why i am going back for a second time on sunday
i will be going back ever year from now on for bow and gun, now that i have a ton of private ground to hunt over there.

my tag cost me 365 plus the 12.20 issuing fee. that is good for a buck and a doe or two does you have to get a habitat stamp also that is 5.50. and i would get the annual non res license unless you are only going to be there 5 days and not go back becsause it is 50.75. im heading back over there sunday to finish out the rest of there season with the outfitter i was with in november, but next im not going with an outfitter and just hunting with a freind of ours that own two thousand acres and doesnt want to lease it to outfitters and he said i could comeover whenever. and the good thing is it is still in west central ill. right next to were the outfitter i hunt with

I thought it was real funny. From the video the guy who shot it was trying to make excuses because he knew he screwed up when he shot. He was trying to make them think he just shot it before they go there in low light and wasn't sure which buck he took. LOL h.h. same thing i thought because he kept saying i hope i didnt screw up

i have seen two bucks in mid december without their rack. the first one i thought was the biggest doe i ever seen till it got about fifty yards and i could see its pedicals. then last year i shot one, thought it was a year a half old doe till i picked its head up. both of these deer were seen on the second weekend of muzzleloader and both a year apart

Sheesh ! With a good rest, and if I knew the trajectory of the gun, I'd take that shot too. It's really not that hard of a shot for a competant rifleman who knows his equipment. My buddies in Missouri head shoot their late season does on a regular basis. Looks like a "no meat wasted" shot to me. Better learn a bit about a man's shooting abilities and experience before you start preaching ethics. i agree. i dropped a coyote with my slug gun at 178 yards and my dad was there to witness it. and i have my encore dead on at 250 yards. if you got the range use it i think. the guys i hunted with in oklahoma shot encores and i seen one of them drop one at a little over 200 yards and the other guy i hunted with drop one at 300 yards. and they werent shot in the head or spine shot high in the shoulder. if you practice all the time and know how your gun shoots why not go the distance

The Typical Record for Oklahoma is 185 6/8 and was set back in 1997.... Seeing is believing.. the guy i hunted without therem his dad has an old oklahoma state record hangin in his kitchen. but is was taken back in the 70's. i cant remember exact score but somewhere around 180's non typical.

i have hunted oklahoma quite a bit and the only part of it that i could think of one that big comeing from is northeastern corner. that is where the majority of the croplands are. i have seen some dandy deer come out of that part of the state. were i mainly hunted in north central oklahoma the big deer over 200 always seemed to be a non typical. but im just guessing it could have came from anypart of the state. they dont get big by being stupid. would like to see if it is fact or fiction though

At my buddies old place we had "The big buck stand " The cherry tree stand" "The nosebleed stand" and " The treehouse" . My favorite was the big buck stand. ;D the stand ill be hunting used to be called nosebleed, but that was before we moved it. i guess i could still call it that because it is on top of a ridge in a thicket and you are about 50 to 60 feet up if you look down to your left

i bought one and took it right back and got my money back. i thought it was two quiet. i figured it would be loud but i dont see how anything outside of a hundred yards could here it. i have the grunt snort wheeze and i tried the same type of call with it. i made the similar sounds that the growl call made and they were louder

I'll steal dirt and the overhanging branch from active scrapes where they are too tough to hunt. I've even stole them from public land! Works well. so you are the one stealing my scrape lines was wandering where they where going

Pretty obvious you have a lot of support from the guys here-what a lowlife, stealing your gear, and actually hunting from YOUR stand? How much nerve can people have? I agree having a surprise cam around to get photos would be the best-let him try to deny the pic. thought about that after mentioned the first time but if this guy would go all the way back home or buddies house to get a set of bolt cutters. if he seen a camera up in a tree he would probably go get a climber and take it back there and get it down somehow. and i dont feel like taking another risk at getting another one stolen. hopefully the camera had some pics on it (wich i am sure it did cause it had been two weeks since i was back there) and comes back cause he liked what he saw.

Hopefully you can nail him and get your stuff back. To all of you that think setting trap that can injure the thief is a good idea - think again. Setting a booby trap wont go well with a judge if the thief decides to sue and odds are he will. There is precedent on that. . if i do catch them i bet they wont admit stealing the cameras. i will give them a chance and tell them that i wont call a CO if he gives them back, but would like to have a CO with me when or if i get them back so he knows that i am not playing around. one of these days i will run into him and when i do i wont be a happy hunter when i see him
