I didn't make it out this morning. I got to bed about 9pm and woke up at 11 with fast, hard beating heart. The event, whatever it was, lasted until 12:30 or so. I didn't go to sleep until 2am and was back up at 5:45. I'm going to be resting today and hopefully be back in the woods tomorrow.

Ended the night without seeing anything else. My buddy and I sat on the tailgates, had a beer and discussed the hunt. We both have permission to hunt there but, I tell him to run that property the way he wants to. It just only permission piece so, I want it to be setup and hunted the way he wants. He has a couple more stands he's wanting to put up but, we'll probably wait until next season. He's learning a lot about the place.
I think I'll be back out in the morning. The stand where I saw the big 10 can only really be hunted on a south wind. So with the forecasted south winds, I think I better be there.

Been pretty quiet here for a few hours. Getting restless in this stand all day. I'm considering sleeping in tomorrow but, we'll see. I hate to miss out of any chances I get to be in the woods this time of year. I have been putting in alot of time since friday evening and have hunted 2 all day sits in there. It is very tough to hang in there when there is not much action. This warm weather still has them mostly moving at night. I think i am going to take a break and go back to work Wed and Thursday. I have off Friday thru Tuesday yet. I also have first 9 days of gun season off. Hopefully by then I will get lucky. I'm thinking more and more about taking a break from the warm weather hunts tomorrow and getting back in on Thursday |

Been sitting on stand all day…really struggling to stay focused for the rest of the evening!! Same here. However, the temps are dropping and wind picked up slightly. It's given me renewed hope! |

Small buck came by to check on my doe decoy. A few minutes later I heard some grunting and a quick chase going on.

Not off to a great start. I got to the new spot, got all dressed and sprayed down just to realize I FORGOT MY BOW! Mad dash home to get it, spray back down and then to the tree. Once settled in, I don't have my binoculars 🤦♂️. I decided oh well , if I need those, the deer is out of range anyhow. Lol!

Hunting new spot that my buddy and I obtained tomorrow. My first hunt of the year there. We're planning and all day sit. Hopefully it won't take that long though!

Calling it a day.
My twin sister is celebrating her 20th year at the sheriff's department (dispatcher). They're having a cookout for her there so I'm going to go there for a bit and give the woods a rest. All day sit tomorrow!

Decent morning so far. As I was sitting spacing off I heard a buck roar. I look behind me and that big 10 was pushing a smaller buck away from a doe. The doe took off running the opposite direction of me and both bucks followed her. Brief, but good encounters so far this morning

Just had a 10 point cruise by on the bench below the ridge I'm on. He was on a mission. He bird dogged the small bedding area and continued on. Acted like he never heard my grunts
