I like the controls on a fob too. I never cared for the foot pedals.

We ended up with a drum, channel cat, one crappie, and two bluegill. Everything went back in the lake this time. Really made it known that I have to get a trolling motor before our next trip. This baiting lines stuff all the time is actual work. Trolling is much more relaxing to me. Yeah 100%. Get one with auto pilot. That and GPS map changed how I fish. No going back

I cannot wait to get my first limit! But, right now, I'm more focused and excited about getting my first wood duck and drake mallard! 1st ones are hard. After that, so long you are in a decent area...easy. Back in the day I always wanted a drake wigeon, we had a group suck right into the decoys. 3 of up pulled up and birds just folded. All were fully feathered widgeons. Of course when I pulled up the shoulder strap got hung and I wasn't shooting. That 1 burned for a while.

That is a good deal. I used to religiously use 4s for ducks and BBs for geese. Anymore I grab whatever I can find.
Pattering guns is for nerds! Just shoot some clays and let her eat. Half the fun is shooting, hate to limit out in 2 vollies. Lol...just kidding I would love to limit out at least 1 more time! When that happens I will see if I want another limit....but probably!

Did that in my boat at the boat launch at williams dam. It was so frustrating. Went home to tear up the motor and found the tab laying on the floor of the boat....ugh

Used to be cheaper on weekdays but expensive.

Love a good pizza, which I can't find any great pizza in California, but always when I go home, gotta make a stop at Pizza King or Arts, both on Broadway in Anderson. I know, probably to big of a chain (besides Arts), but mighty good. My family loves going back home with me and eating pizza there, compared to anything we have found out in Ca....SF Woody Heading back to Anderson next week to get some stuff from Mom and Dad. She asked if we wanted to get Scampi's for lunch. That and Art's roast beef...I still crave those and I have not lived there in 17 yrs.

Probably should be back after spawning gills but trolling stick baits in May has been good to me in the past.
1 ditch pickle of the spotted variety so far. Got a late start.

Well once again the ole boy pitched down and crossed the road behind my house. Spent Monday and Tuesday trying to coax one into the field with no luck. Been a tough couple of weeks, lost my neighbor who sold me my ground and lost my other neighbor who I took hunting all the time last year. Had to get his replacement hip worked on Monday, talked to him Monday and Tuesday evening and was very upbeat then went into cardiac arrest at 2 this morning and never recovered. He always told me to keep at it and never give up cause things can change in seconds. Sure gonna miss my hunting buddy. I'll be chasing em again in the morning. Tough losing a good friend.

I was helping my wife. She works for HNF what a gig! I hear ya, payscale is pretty low if just starting out but can be rewarding if one has a passion for being outdoors. One of my buddies who went on to grad school spent a year and a half working with two guys doing Mt.Lion research in New Mexico. He was in charge of a pack of hounds they used to run and tree the lions for capture to get data. He said it was one of the coolest jobs he ever had---LOL---getting paid to go hunting Steve I went to school to be a fish biologist. Was signed up for grad school and ready to compete for a sub $20k/yr job in late 90s when I realized that would not be doable. Got my undergrad degree and got a job with IDEM 60% higher wage than being hired as assistant fish biologist for IDNR. No master degree either. Those biologist jobs are easily filled so tough competition. Feds are better than the state. But not by much when working for usda.

duff will you please take me fishing?! If you're that good at hunting turkeys, when you don't even like it, you have to be an absolute GOAT at crappie fishing! My freezer needs some filling! Anytime. Maybe we can have a 1v1 my boat vs Dave's boat. It really is easy and I lucked into the dumb turkey so don't set your expectations too high

Was supposed to hunt with span870 today but he was checking out golf clubs at Dicks...figures. Spent a few hours at the spillway. 4 wipers 2 gills 2 drum 1 shad 1 broke off...pretty sure it was my 10 pound eye
