span870 if you need me to call your bird in I can cook it for you too. You have to carry it out though he may need you to find him a spot that HAS birds! Don't let his whoa is me story get to you. He will only shoot a bird after it sniffs his boot, does a special shimmy shake that he claims proves it to be a superior genetic quality from his beloved PA. Then, he will load his gun. Targets are not his problem.

He'd suck at golf too. Try toy trains in the basement. I will buy you your hat.

When that bird was babbling on and on...he was fluffy too.
What's the problem? What do you call it then?

Nephew is having fun today. He just called and asked if I would smoke one for him. Do you put them in a pipe or do you roll-em. It's super hard to keep lit. He must be a master smoker

Oh I know its all in good fun....I enjoy reading you guys bantering and digs. Fun? Good fun? How did you ever get that out of what I wrote? 3 leases in 3 states and a ridiculous amount of loss of sleep and driving and money spent and he kills one 5 minutes from the house in 15 minute hunt. Good fun? Bantering and digs? ? Absolutely not. I'm soooooooo freaking happy for the man. Roosted a few tonight, Shane. I guess they hiss more than gobble at night. None were fluffed up either...hard bird to figure out.

Just like the hunt...it was quick. I brined in a Dill pickle juice for 6ish hrs coated with breading then let swim in hot oil. Not bad at all.

So you took span870 with you. You fell asleep against a tree while he called the bird to 8 yards and woke you up in time for the shot? Please don’t ban me 😂. Congrats on your bird! Guiding services and general advice available. In between crappie trips though

It’s hard until it’s not. All about having a spot with low-pressured birds IME. I struggled mightily in the HNF for several years. Aren’t those quarry birds tame anyway? Nice bird and photo! You inspired me. Figured if your knuckle dragging can make it happen I can too

WTH? Did you use rusty steel shot to kill it? Nice bird and good going! Come on up here and show me how to do it. I'd ask Deadeer, but he's had 3 strikes this year already. ROFL. Almost used some #4 steel. But they had 3.5 inch and my Nova hasn't seen action in a decade or more so tag he got it

So decided to go hunt today...last night around 6pm. Ran to dunhams got a call and last box of turkey loads. Got to the property at about 7. Walking down the edge and hear a gobble, kind of close. Find a tree, sit down, put the call in for the 1st time. Make some noises...not sure it was a turkey call or a sick elk. Bird goes into strut 25-30 yards in the thick brush. Walks 3 steps into a clearing and bang. 715 bird on ground. Crappie fishing is harder!
