In Illinois you need whats called a Firearm Owner Identification Card to own a gun . even if that person hunts in a state where such card is not needed .

The Gun card allows the card holder to own shotguns , handguns and rifles and buy ammunition for such weapons. Years a go I went to buy a BB gun and BB’s but I didn’t have proof of my age because I didn’t have a drivers license yet . So I ended up having to use my gun card to be able to buy my items, the people behind the counter weren’t to thrilled on having to sell them to me , but they didn’t have a choice.

If it's a BB / Pellet gun ( Air Gun ) or Muzzle loader . It only takes 2 months and $20.00 to get the Gun card .

Good deal.
They finally started marking trees this past week. They expanded beyond what was originally said were the target trees, but it's not mine to say anything. Either the squirrel hunting will be a bit tougher or a lot easier with them concentrated to what trees are left. Only time will tell. :-)

Either way it will still be a great time either hunting or just hanging out or fishing and meeting members who come in . I had to put the dates in either way so that they are locked in for the year for my vacation time .

Where is this taking place? This post has lived a couple years but everything except the exact dates are the same. If you look at the very first post it gives an address.

Absolutely.
The woods is a bit damaged from the storms Father's Day weekend, plenty of squirrels needing to die.
Logging didn't get started this past winter because the sale was after sap had started to rise. I assume they will start after the crops come out this year, but the have u till February of 2021 to get it done.

8-30 to 9-2.
My local archery shop is running a customer appreciation day on 8-31 with free lunch from 11 to 2 or until the food runs out. I will be stopping in and hopefully whoever is in camp will join. The owners are long time friends and they have been huge supporters of our local Hunter Ed program as well as NASP and youth outdoor involvement in general.
If you happen to need something archery related, they will be having a sale.

I'll plan on coming out again for at least a short visit, unless family plans arise for the labor day weekend.

I should be heading to the camp site August 30 at730 am . Not sure if I’m bringing anyone . Not sure if I’m going to tent camp or sleep in my Jeep. I did buy a air mattress . The Tent is a 8 person tent if I bring it, so if anyone wants to camp out but doesn’t have a tent don’t worry .

Those tent ratings are as bad as boat ratings. 12 people or 800 pounds!

So who is or might or if is going to the Group gathering? I believe that I’m going to be more prepared for this gathering then last years gathering . I bought some rubber boots . I pulled out my camo bought a air mattress. I just need to remember to bring more music than the one CD that I had with me last year. 4 hours of driving and listening to the same 3 songs that I liked drove me crazy.
