I have tossed the idea around for several months of hosting a H-I gathering. Since we can never seem to find a good day I decided to just pick one and hope for the best. We have room for a dozen campers or so and seemingly endless tents. We also have a deal worked out with a local hotel because of the gold camp. There could be some prospectors there or some of the survival group, but no organized event is scheduled except us. I have plenty of limb chickens to go around and some decent small mouth in the creek.
Ok, so here's the details.
Labor Day Weekend September 1 to 4
Cottonwood Trails Gold Camp
5200 S CR 220 SW
Greensburg, IN 47240
Camping, tent or camper (hotel 10 miles away)
Squirrel hunting
Fishing
Gold prospecting
Food
General fellowship
I do have an ATV trail ride business about 15 miles away if anybody would be interested in that.
There are 6 or 7 public golf courses within 7 miles, one is 3.
I know this won't work for several people, but hopefully it will work for several. Pitch-in dinners are a norm around here and the conversation is always a good time.
Bring a thermocell. :-)

I should be able to attend. I would be pulling my camper if that's OK. Absolutely! I will need length numbers so I can make sure I save the big places for big units. I forgot that a shower house was set up last year with an on-demand water heater. It's not your house shower, but it does work. |

It's on a double axle boat trailer frame if that gives you an idea on the size.

Beer drinking has in the past been a sport at gold camp. A clean up happened a few years ago, so now it's down to an enjoyment level and not a race to pass out. Bring it along and share your creation. I'm sure several would enjoy it.

I will attempt to coordinate this with a swing down to Odon, IN to visit family as well. Maybe pop in and tent it one night or so. On calendar.
