Add 2 to team 3. Found five in a large oak tree. Two didn't make it out thanks to a smooth handling 20 ga. Over and under.

H&R Trapper muzzleloading 12 ga. Squirrel load is 1 oz. #5s 70 grains 2F Goex use card wads over powder and over shot. Late season I have several .22s I alternate. A Kidd ultralight, an Anschutz 164 sporter and a cz 452 carbine suppressed. Use depends on where I go to hunt.

Find someone that will take them to eat. Maybe an older couple.

Just received new glasses today. I can clearer now. The squirrels are in trouble cause I can tell which end the head is on.

Got a new squirrel rifle and have high anticipation to try it in the squirrel woods. It is a Kidd lightweight. 22 with a 4x12 Leupold scope. Preliminary groups look good and just need to shoot some more to narow down the best ammo. Getting old so need all the help I can get.

Sakorifle, When stalking deer do you use some type of shooting staff?

I know I have found a list of the projected deer season dates someplace. However I cannot locate them now. Any help is highly appreciated.

I built many ladder stands 50 years ago. 8 footers. My sons and I hunted them for years. When I could afford metal ones I burned all the wooden ones I found one that someone had cut the top of the tree off and fastened a pallet on top never could figure how they go on top of it.

Don't know the bullet brand, type, or weight. But probably some of the usual selection at the local mart.

Anyone having trouble with the 270 bullets failing to exit on behind the shoulder shots on deer wigh standard cup and core bullets. A friend of mine recovered a buck he thought he might have missed 175 yards 80 yards to recovery the next morning. No blood, no hair, no exit. Puzzling.

Will hunt with "the terminator" tomorrow morning. A Savage 116 custom barreled with a .358 BFG wssm McGowan barrel. The load is a 200 grain Barnes TTSX traveling at 2640 f/s. Shoots 1 inch at 200 yards. Has terminated a bunch of deer out to 300 yards. Am pretty confident for tomorrow's hunt.

Built a walk in cooler just for that reason. We field dress our deer as soon as possible. We are very careful about shot placement. If a late shot opportunity presents its self we opt for a high shoulder shot to anchor the animal on the spot.

Got to the right at daylight. In a short time squirrels were moving everywhere. Wind made it challenging and thick undergrowth made them hard to see within range. Missed the first one then 3 in a row. Squirrel it's what's for dinner.
