I could. Just chase after something else, probably Elk. When the survey was taken in the '70's and '80's there was a whole different mentality about deer hunting than there is now.
Me? Deer hunting locally is a way to put meat in the freezer. Period. Sure, I'd shoot a buck with a big rack, and I might wait until late Archery or muzzleloader season to take a buck, but I'll be shooting a few does before then. If nothing big shows up by then, then I am looking for something with a big body size. For me, going deer hunting in Wi. is a way to meet up and visit with relatives that I wouldn't normally see during the year.

I'd miss deer hunting, without a doubt. If we had a few more hogs running around here though, deer would take a back seat pretty quick.

There was about a decade where I probably didn't deer hunt 50 total times. I went, put deer down, got back to waterfowl, and I've traveled way more chasing ducks than I ever have deer.

I would miss it when duck hunting is slow. Or when the displaced deer hunters discover waterfowl hunting. Fall fishing is pretty great too

Done. I'd guess if you had something to fill the time up that you enjoy it be easier. I can run dogs all year helps a lot too. Giving it up to say turkey hunt for a month or so leaves a lot of down time.

Move to beer brewing and beekeeping. Early season for the bees and late season for the brewing. Brew until March and then back to bees.

That’s busy season for the BnB; I’d probably just stay in and help with that. I’m not ready to give it up but I noticed last fall I was easier to stay in and sleep than in earlier years. I suspect it’s - combo of age and the hemochromatosis

Heck not enough down here living right in the heart of it to worry about. I could be wrong but I don't think one true hog has ever been killed outside of Jackson and Lawrence county although there was supposedly a pocket in Warwick years ago.

Has been quite a few in Washington county also. They're way down around me though, USDA has been hitting them hard.

I'd be just fine, plenty of other hobbies/running the the hobby farm. I'd probably still do habitat work though.

The idea would be better than reality. Imagine that drag out I'm not sure a field quartering would help much either. Field 1/8'ing maybe? About the third trip you'd definitely be arguing with yourself how stupid this was. My luck I'd get it all out finally and farmer show up, say that's my cow, thanks for butchering.
