On April the 4th of 1995 I was returning from getting $30,000 from the bank for a house and saw a 10 pointer full headgear. In 2011 I found a shed that was still in velvet. The wildlife biologist over at Crosley said they shed early like that due to illness or injury. Wade

This one is not as true as a lot of people think. Growing up our neighbor had family that lived around the Kokomo area. Each year we would make the trip up there to go pheasant hunting since there are none here.Years later my brother and I went up alone and got there in the middle of the night. We slept in the truck and when light came nothing looked right. The guy that lived there was always out at daybreak, different vehicles and farm equipment etc. We went to the door and found out he had passed away. The figured he had a heart attack and was eaten by the hogs.My understanding at that time was that they only found shredded pieces of clothing. I had a VA appt. this morning so when I got to Greendale I was ahaead ;of schedule. I decided to burn some time driving up rt 1 to bright. Rt 1 follows tenners creek for a few miles before going up the hill to Dover. The creek bottoms were full of turkey! No exaggeration I probably saw a minimum of 300 birds! One bachelor group of 6 long beards and about that many jakes were displaying for a group of about 30 hens. They whole valley had little pockets of 30-40 birds spread along the creek with some bachelor groups and some hens and some mixed.Once I topped the hill that was the end of the bird sightings. Hope this helps someone get a bird this year! Wade Do you turkey hunt? Thank you for your service! I'm booked up this year, but if you'd like to go on a guided turkey hunt for veterans, I can get you in. All you'll have to do is get there, and everything else is provided, even out of state license. I have three guys lined up to go now that will be riding with me. Thanks for the offer but I'll have to take a pass on it,at least this year. Just too many things going on.I have spent the past year plus with health issues that has set me way behind on things around the home.Getting caught up is my main priority for the time being. Thanks, Wade

Maybe add a long or lifetime ban on hunting in case it was there and I didn't read it. Pretty simple. Read the rules and obey them. There are no questionable areas. Wade

I have used cardboard decoys before.Just the rough shape with a cotton ball and a piece of white garbage bag stapled it the tail position.Use the cotton ball to add scent.Put it where it can be seen as a security decoy and if they come in they spend time looking at it trying to figure it out but have never had a deer come close to it to check it out. I made a run to Madison this morning and while there hit the walmart. Sure 'nuff,Winchester 22lr at $6.92 per 100. LIMIT of one per customer!Next time y'all get in walmart take a look at the flashlights in sporting goods. The have a 10 pack with batteries for $10.I picked one of these up to distribute to the grandkids and every one of them worked. They are aluminum body about 3 inches long with 3 AAA batteries each.At that price they are great to stick in the car, truck, atv, barn, chicken house etc. Wade

Here is a link to the last north American sale in June. There is another sale coming up this month that will give you a better base. I don not expect prices to rise much if at all since there is no longer competition in the market.US sanctions on Russia has devalued their currency to the point they are no longer competitive in the market leaving China and Korea the only main bidders on wild fur.If and when sanctions are lifted and Russian currency stabilizes the market might return but not before this time. That's good prices! haven't seen 22 that low in 4+ years.7¢s for the 100 pk and 5.5 cents for bulk.I can't seem to get any accuracy out of the bulk ammo. Anybody find bulk that is accurate? I saw on youtube someone recommending federal champion bulk pack as they were accurate. I think it was "22 plinkster". Wade

We did the pallet thing 10 years ago. Built a cube of 6 pallets and wired on 6 concrete blocks to keep them down.It wasn't enough weight and they move around the pond until they find a place to settle. We built 4 of them.
The best thing you can do for your fish is feed them. We built a feed and put it on a rope across one end of the pond.Put fresh roadkill in it and the flies lay eggs that turn into maggots. The maggots have to fall off to the ground to turn into flies but instead fall into the water. The fish will stage up waiting for the next one to drop so it's a good idea to pile brush under the feeder so the smaller fish can hide and feed.It is best if this can be lowered into the water once a day to keep the roadkill fresh.Once it dries out and becomes leathery the flies won't use it.
