So today I won an argument with my lazy self and got 7 & 1/2 of the 8 trees that were left down cut up, including the 3 I discovered yesterday. Btw... the one positive of trees being down on a steep hill is the blocks self locate to the bottom. Does that much work make up for me putting 2 more on the ground? Oh, and I really should apologize to nature. When the first one hit the ground a very shook up fox squirrel came running out of it. Unfortunately he didn't pick a good place to hide because he shortly took an identical ride when the second one hit the ground. I believe I'm creating the need for a H-I member wood splitting party. Everybody bring a side dish, I'll provide the deer steaks and drinks, and all the gas for the wood splitters. :-) A couple years ago I took down a hollow tree I just knew was a den but nothing came out of it when it hit the ground.A half hour later while cutting it up I cut a fox squirrel in half.He was still alive and squealing when it happened. I hate kill'n one out of season!LOL! Wade

Thanks for the words of welcome y'all! I might as well ask here as anywhere else, sooooooo, does the site have a place I haven't seen yet where we can know where a person is from that we are talking to etc? I didn't see anything in profiles or members etc.Just wondering. One of y'all might be my neighbor.(I did see a buck that looks familiar already!LOL!)

Hey y'all! I guess by now you've figured out my name is Wade! And before you ask the answer is no! I'm not a sniper and I don't think I'm some great shot or anything,it's just that one shot is about all I ever get!LOL!
So anyway,I'm 66yowm from the southeastern part of the state.I was born and raised here back when all there was to hunt were squirrel, rabbit and quail, you know,"the good old days!"I enjoy about all outdoor activity but age and health has a lot of bearing on my participation. With two surgeries and fighting lung cancer this year my only outing was a 3 hr sit to harvest a yearling! I didn't even wet a line but that's all going to change!I'm looking forward to continuing improvement in my health throughout the year and getting back out there!
I'm really glad I found y'all!Looks like a great site! Later, Wade
