Woke up and saw the temps and had half a mind to go back to sleep. I go anyways, with little optimism. Get to my spot and park and start thinking about going to a different stand rather than my climber that I had moved the morning prior. I talk myself out of it and head for the climber.
I had my climber on as big of tree that it would fit and that made for some noisy and hard climbing. But I made it up maybe 15 ft and called it quits. My platform was slanted and I knew it wouldn’t be a comfortable sit. All this played into me not being very optimistic, all while sitting in a good spot.
About 7:15 I see a doe on the opposite hillside from me acting very funny but never acted like she was being pushed. She eventually bedded. 10 mins pass and I hear one loud grunt. I look up and see antlers and he’s pushing a doe. Maybe the same one I had seen bed down but I think it was a different one. I hit him with 1 single grunt and that’s all it took. He turns and comes to the base of my tree. Inside 10 yards. He took off and crashed about 80 yards away.
Awesome hunt that I won’t soon forget!
Would anyone allow me to send pics to them and then post them? I can text them or email them! Whichever is easiest!

Congratulations. Know the feeling of climbing big trees. I pick little ones now.

He will have some major deductions though. You still think he makes it?
