Monofilament 1 Less backlash 2 Easier to undo backlash 3 Cheap 4. Nothing cast quite like it out of baitcaster 5. It floats allowing you to use topwater lures with better action. I'd argue with everything else, except it's cheap. Lol

I always liked how they called and acted like we were buddies. Lol
a fishing magazine did pretty much the exact same thing a couple of weeks ago to me. I didn't feel comfortable giving them my credit card information over the phone and asked to be sent a bill through the mail. That started a whole new runaround.

I was reading a post from another site and this was pointed out.... Indiana was ranked fourth on the list (here is the text).... So according to the article, Indiana doesn't make the all-time top 10 list, but if you look @ the table on the page about half way down you'll see this... And there is Indiana ranked @ number 10...all time... I noticed that also. I'm not sure why anyone would use an article like this to pick a place to shoot a booner. The chances in any of the states are still slim. If someone is going somewhere solely to shoot a booner they are most likely going to pay someone for it and the chances are probably about the same in any of these states.

Ive only heard the stories about peabody unleashing its employees on a hog population at the wild boar mine. Ive never seen anything to suggest a substantial population down in the far south. There were hogs at Wild Boar mine, but they were mostly, if not completely, gone before it became Wild Boar.

Didn't think turkeys could be killed with how late the season is and all Turkeys can be killed any day of the year.

Nice ride. I'm pretty sure that has a timing chain. Might check and make sure. If it has a belt you should look into getting it replaced if it hasn't already been.

This short version of why this law came into effect is this. Parents let young daughter hang out a friends house. Parents of friend allow girls to ride ATV without a helmet. Girl dies when ATV rolls. Parents start a group to preach the obvious. I dont agree with laws like this, but they do save tax payers millions of dollars a year, just like seat belt laws. That was the start of it. The rest of it is the fact that, as you know, there are ATV accidents involving kids every single weekend. Some days multiple accidents.

They've been gobbling for two months. They're probably just worn out.

Seems like it is like this a lot of times when coaching kids. I see it in baseball all the time. The better hitter and fields get more swings and more fielding opportunities. The other kids that need the extra chances suffer.
I get involved when I can which isn't very often after working 60-72 hours a week, but you can instantly see kids try harder when you give them some attention and build their confidence.

I get the feeling that this year season will be one of low harvest because of all this rain. And a summer of seeing few poults.

Not to hijack the thread but I've read a few comments regarding predators and the turkey population. Do you guys think feral cats have any impact on the turkey poult population? I would guess they get some, but you are only looking at about a 2 week window. Bobcats get them year round every day.

Perhaps we are killing off the vocal birds, as they are the ones we target, leaving the non-vocal ones to pass on their genes. Something to think about... Killing the gobble out of them. I've been saying it for years. Bird gobbles, bird dies. Young birds realize this and don't gobble. Last time I said that I was told it would take 100's of years for that to happen. I used to see winter flocks of 200 or so birds on the farm by my house. Only see 25-50 now. Definitely less birds also.

The harvest have been consistent for several years We have Turkey 🦃 in about if not Every county in the state Fall seasons have been added yearly and growing Seasons are Perfect considering these facts Need to do something different in the way you hunt not change season leave it alone I got off the fields and get in the woods more seemed to help me . It has been consistent since about 2002. Since that time we have added 20,000+ hunters. Success rate has went from around an average of 26% to closer to 21-22%. A lot of people who have hunted since before 2002 report hearing less gobbling now compares to then. I like the late start, because you can hunt good states and then go in Indiana if you want, but something still doesn't seem to be adding up.
