I have read other posts on this site and others and thought I would just get clarification on this. If I find tree stands, cameras, blinds, etc on MY property is it legal for me to confiscate the items if they are clearly on my property?

I plan on hitting the woods next weekend to pull my cameras and do some shed hunting. I just hope I don't have the same luck your friend did!

I live in IL and where we hunt in southern IL (wayne county) we are covered up by out of state hunters who are paying big dollars to deer hunt. Several land owners have lost the crp payments for there land and have turned to leasing hunting rights and it is paying off for them. We have lost many places that we thought we would never loose because they were friends of the family and always took care of us. Well the all mighty dollar is more important these days and between out of state hunters and outfitters snatching up all the land it probably won't be to long before you have to own or lease if you want to have your own spot to hunt.
It wasn't a month after we purchased our property in indiana this past year that we were contacted by the first outfitter wanting to lease our ground.
I suspect Indiana will eventually have the same thing happen to it. especially with the one buck rule the deer hunting is only going to get better in my opinion and the out of state tag prices aren't to bad with the new bundle.

My family and I have 220 acres in Ohio County. It is all woods except for a few small pastures. Our property has no crop fields around it for a few miles. Our neighbor does have a few small food plots on his property. The pasture I am looking to plant is about 2 acres in size and it is completely surrounded by woods in the center of our property.
I live in IL and can bring a small tractor and disk down to our place but over all we are pretty limited in our access to equipment. I am thinking about planting forage soybeans. I would spray the field wait a couple weeks then work the ground, broadcast the soybeans and cover them with a drag.
My question to you all is Should I plant something different or break up the field into maybe 2 different crops?
We have a couple guys that hunt our property with us and they have 2 kill plots planted in this grass field already and they would like to keep it that way. But my logic is since there isn't much around by way of farm fields I want to offer a large food source to the deer and turkey that will keep them in our area.
What do you think?

I know several people there that will not turn in, so I suspect you'll see a pretty good little fracus in certain areas. Oh you can count on it! It kind of scares me what might happen if and when they start taking guns away. If I could find work in Indiana I would consider a move. I am tired of the IL government it is just sad when you look at what IL has become.

This is really concerning to me as I am from IL. If the majority of these bills passes without any kind of changes made I really worry how people will react. People south of I80 already hate the North.....

In Illinois the youth season is the first weekend in Oct. Bow hunters are allowed to hunt the same weekend but must wear orange while hunting. I have never had an issue with it. Never seems to hurt any other bow hunters I know.

I just want to make sure I am on the same page with this bundle. You can use it in any season right? So I could kill 2 doe with my bow then a buck with my shotgun is that correct?

Well our property is in Ohio county we have about 210 acres. We have a few small pastures and grassy areas and the rest is woods. The nearest corn field is a couple miles away.
I want to try and have a couple kill plots and 1 larger nutrition plot of about 2 acres. Our neighbors have some food plots as well so I need to plant my own so I can give the deer a reason besides cover to be on my property.
I would like to plant something that I don't have to replant every year because I make my home 4 hours away in IL. But if I had to replant a kill plot that wouldn't be to bad.

I am starting to gather information to plant a few food plots next year and I was just curious what some of you have planted and what brand was it?

I usually try to take my vacation during the 2nd week of November every year. I don't plan my season around it but I feel it is a good tool to at least look at.
